His days of challenging for Olympic/World 100/200 medals are over. So why waste his time losing?
Why not get serious about his very first event the 400 meters? He won't need the blazing speed there just sustained speed. If he would have taken this event serious he could have been the best of all time.
This was also said about Steve Williams by John Smith.
hate to be that guy, but yea he probably could get close to where he was again Gatlin style, probably even for several more years he could make a diamond league final...
selfishly I agree I'd like to see him go 200/400 this time around. The 100 I think doesn't need 'full Bolt' to medal in any longer, usually a 9.9/10.0 will do. He could probably pop one of those again
Bolt is used to being DA MAN he's not going to be cool running 9.95ish/19.95. That won't work, his 9.7ish 19.4ish days are long gone. He could lose the 400 and nobody would care and he's back in the sport. He can't be getting destroyed in the 100/200 he has a legacy to protect.

Dude, he's Usain Bolt. He can come in 3rd or 5th and still collect huge appearance fees. He can milk this for a coupe of years and just pad his actual retirement.

So ya think he's that hard up for $$$$$ to spent a couple seasons looking like a grade A loser, well I don't see that.

You know, possibly. He's got 3 kids and the endorsements may be running out.
I do think with proper training he could have doubled at the 2020 Olympic Games, possibly podiuming in both. Maybe a win even. He would have been 32 or 33 then.
Now we are on the wrong side of 30's and with years of relative inactivity.
The runner posts daily videos surrounding the sport of track and field, more specifically distance running. He has made videos on World class runners such as...
I seriously (very seriously) doubt this is true. I saw Bolt only a couple months ago and he appeared to be about 30 pounds over his weight when he was competing. With that said, I do recall him joking about his weight and saying he was going start running to get in shape; perhaps that is what's being taken out of context.

I always wondered if perhaps he was grossly over trained. He’s running between the ages of 25 and 29 was riddled with injuries, and a gradual decline. He should’ve been at his peak during that time, there is no real reason why he should’ve been so much slower in 2016 that he was in 2012. I’ve seen a few videos of his training, and I remember him retching on the side of the track after one such session. I wonder if his coach just over trained him, perhaps thinking he needed to counteract Bolt’s partying.
Right there is where Bolt would be, maybe a big Usain Bolt vs NFL Fastest Man Tyreek Hill match race. But as far as being in the Olympic/Worlds mix, that is over.
