Hey! I'm currently out of running for at least 4 weeks with a stress fracture/reaction
I'm planning my workouts on the peloton and I really want to get some input on how effective these will be. End of indoor I was running 4:10 in the 1500, 1:24 600, 51 400m. I know its hard to maintain fitness while biking, but I'm curious to know how effective my rides/workouts are and will be going into the season as primarily an 800 runner (trying to break 1:54, current PR 1:56 high)
My week looks like this right now:
M: 20 miles easy (Around 20 mph, 180 watts I believe? dont quote me)
T: 5 Mile AM Ride, 3x(8x30s, 15s rest), 2 min between reps, 10 minute WU, CD to 20 Miles; 8x30 around 350-400 watts
W: 20 Miles easy (Around 20 mph, 180 watts I believe? dont quote me)
Th: 5 Mile AM ride, 3x10Minute tempo, watts TBD, 2 minute rest, 10 minute WU, CD to 20 miles
F: 20 Miles Easy
S: 35 Miles easy
Su: 10 miles easy
I biked around 120 miles last week and I am curious to know how effective this workout schedule will be. I have yet to try it, so I'm curious. At the very least I want to maintain SOME fitness, but I'm willing to push as hard as possible to somehow improve my running on the bike. I also lift twice a week.
