So if I added this up right between 7th grade and high school graduation Katelyn ran the mile distance 6 times in total. once in 7th grade, once in 9th grade, three times in 10th grade, and once in 11th. During the 2021 outdoor season alone Engelhardt ran the mile distance seven times, and may have run the distance over 15 times already. I mean, OK.

My point is I hope people know what they are doing because virtually every top distance runner coming out of high school the past few years has been injured and this seems like over racing for a short term goal.

Lets' say that Engelhardt races the mile 10 times in one year. That's a total of 10 miles.
Let's say she trains 50 miles per week. That's 2,500 miles per year.
I wouldn't worry about the 10 miles that she raced. That's a drop in the bucket compared to how many miles she runs in training.

Fair enough. I don't have the impression that Frias races more than the other top girls. But yes, Sadie does race a lot and she still has 3 more years of high school.

Your point?
Well, one point is that Sadie is a miler and Katelyn is not. And her consistent string of PRs and records indicates she is able to tolerate her program very well.

You're completely ignoring all the races that Tuohy ran between 3k - 5k. Why did you decide to ignore them?
Do you think there is something magical about the 1 mile distance that totally messes up runners? And you think that the 800, 3000, 3200, 2 mile, and 5k are totally fine?

That'd kinda creepy that you know that. Get a life loser.
