Great run from her to break up the Ethiopians.
Beat Debues-Stafford pretty easily as well.
Made it look easy and this isn't her best event.

I think it might be her best event. She is a really aerobically strong 1500 runner. Either way, she ran great and with a ton of determination. At 200 to go she held off GDS’ move and really it was a really strong run on all fronts. The womens 1500 is really strong but she jumps to 4th in line to me and you never know if Hassan will go crazy in which case stealing a bronze is possible. I loved how physical she was in this race, it was how Makhloufi (let’s ignore the doping stuff) used to handle his business.
Should note maybe it’s 5th if Tsegay opts for the 15^
I love, too. Surprised there is no Elle MF PSP thread. Her tactics were as good as they come. She was clearly fit, but someone less tactically sound with the same fitness would not have finished as high.
GDS, on the other hand, looked to have neither the fitness or the tactics to do what many expected of her today.
I'd argue that the 3000/2 mile is her best event for sure.
I'd also argue that the Ethiopian team tactics kept her from winning. She ran tough as hell though, hope this carries over to outdoor success!

I'm glad to see that at least a few people had nice things to say about her performance.

Yes, she is better at 3000 than at either 1500 or 5K. Too bad for her 3000 isn't run at global outdoor championships.
3k probably her best single event, this makes her good at championship 1500 racing as she is strong enough to handle the 3 rounds.
Or a future steepler? I'll bet rojo would be willing to coach her in that event.

Well, the OP could have started such a thread, but instead decided to start a thread suggesting that LetsRun has no love for Elle. Flimsy accusations of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc., have been all the rage in recent years, you might have noticed.
And do we need another thread with "MF" in its title? Does an accusation of sexual libertinism and possibly adultery strike you as eloquent praise?
Congratulations to Elle.
she actually ran the 3000S in college, PB of 9:43!
Great run!
Great run for Purrier, that was really exciting. Last year, I thought she looked like a bog standard US distance runner, good for beating up on domestic competition but too green to compete on the global stage. This takes her up to a new level. She raced really well, and got involved in the scrap that mid and long-d races often turn into at the international level. She can definitely be in the mix for a medal at World's. There's a Big 4 in the 1500 who are 2-3 seconds faster than everyone else, but if the race goes slower than 3:56, that brings in some other women and Purrier is right there, probably at the front of that group.
If she gets on the circuit and starts competing against top class women regularly, her chances will only get better.

Leave it to Letsrun to not be able to compliment a great runner on a stellar performance without making it racist.
