Cade Flatt of Benton, Kentucky ran an Armory record and the third-fastest high school indoor 800 of all-time with a 1:48.86. The senior lead from the gun to secure the New Balance Indoor Nationals title.
Well, it looks like he'll be a good fit for Ole Miss. An equally obnoxious replacement for the other high school alpha wonder who failed to perform at college
You could be talking about anybody, but as a Maryland guy I assume it's Dalton Hengst, who was one of the more arrogant HS runners I've seen who never did anything at Ole Miss.
The interview is awesome, ya bunch of stiffs haha. He said he wanted to make them 'question why they were in the event'..that's an incredible quote. We all know NP is awesome but that race was all Cade's. Credit where it's due.

Maybe he could drink two NP shakes and then take on the NP kids in the mile.
Congrats you beat the cross country national record holder in his 2nd 800m in HS ever the morning after he broke the 4xmile National record with his team.
I was ready to hate the kid, but it was an entertaining interview. He'll be good for the sport if he lasts. I like that he said he took that race out "with bad intentions," and I like that he says he's undertrained and looking to get that national record outdoors. He thinks he's the best 800m runner in the country. He should get out and race Will Sumner for it. It doesn't hurt to have that belief in yourself, and he and his coach are the only ones who know what kind of workout times he's able to hit and project that forward.

Would you mean Culpepper?
Seems like it. Cruz is doing OK, though. His 3:57 probably puts him in the top five milers in his class, though. The high school alpha wonders that I am more curious about are Nathan Green and Leo Daschbach. I was really excited about their college careers -- wonder if they are hurt or what.
Cruz almost took down that South Carolina dude that ran 3:33 or whatever last year at SECs. I bet he'll be in the national mix by next season. Depth is pretty intense this year.
Cade's attitude is probably familiar to anyone over 35 years old. When I was growing up that's how "dudes" talked to each other and on my marine construction job sites it still is. This reversal of reality that has happened, the oversaturation of PC/Cancel Culture, has a lot of men and women who are looking for someone willing to be bold, confident and real. No more fake PC answers please, it cheapens everything and quite frankly it's boring.
You can't really compare this to Donald Trump, at that level things get very complicated, but I just don't understand a mindset that roots for the PC robot as opposed to the plain speak everyman.

Baloney! He's just a kid who is comfortable answering questions, it has absolutely nothing to do with PC/cancel culture, whatever the hell that is supposed to be.
