I felt like if she wasn’t so far back when Taylor Roe made that move, she would have won the race. Only lost by .25
same thoughts
she had the fastest last lap of 31s, she also has the fastest last 400 and the fastest last 600, katelyn being in the 9th place past half the race kinda costed her the win, because it would have given her a plenty room to catch roe
anyways, such a good race! shes looking so solid this season!
Will have to watch it back but Taylor Roe made a great move. Felt reminiscent of Barega in the 10K in Tokyo. Could Tuohy have been further up? Sure, but the entire field looked like it got pretty much caught flat-footed. 16-person field is hard to navigate and Tuohy was trying not to waste too much energy. That obviously was successful as she had the best close in the field. So positioning wasn’t perfect but her tactics overall worked as she stayed out of trouble and had a monster close. It took a gutsy, early extended move to beat her.

that was awesome! Tuohy was cost a lot by the field not responding to Roe going out to the front. She very smartly stayed on the rail as the whole field was in striking distance, but Roe took off, and NOBODY in front of Tuohy responded. By the time she took it into her own hands, it was a little too late.
really fun race to watch. kudos to Roe. That kind of move doesn't always pay off.

i know right, it was yet an amazing race to watch, half thanks to katelyn tuohy making both 5000m and 3000m races so exciting! she has so much passion to burn! so excited for her future races!
also, it was so funny how roe said in the interview how she was terrified seeing katelyn and lauren coming for her and how hr coach was screaming THEY'RE COMING!
katelyn was running the fastest last 3 laps than all of them but unfortunately she was too far back when roe started surging, the early surge is the very reason why she held off tuohy, because she wasnt really running faster than tuohy, she just relied on the distance created by her early surge while the pack where tuohy settled in didnt move
