It wasn't exactly what most people would call drug smuggling. She had a little cannabis oil that she was vaping and that's illegal in Russia.
How incredibly dumb can you be to be in Russia right now let alone to attempt to sneak around their laws.
Also Russia doesn't approve of a certain lifestyle choice of hers.
We won't be seeing her back here in a long time if ever.
Can’t get away from that drug, dude..but “it’s not addictive”…
Seems like she was in trouble before with some sort assault/domestic abuse situation with her wife.

Dumb move on her part for sure, but it sounds like she was probably arrested about a month ago.

In the winter the WNBA stars play in Europe, Russia was the best and highest paying league. A bunch of the women are scrambling to get out this week.
Let's hope oligarch owner of her team still has a relationship with Putin, otherwise she waits for prisoner exchange.

It seems like she has been in jail for a month now. That has to suck. A month in a Russian jail? Yikes.
Russia arresting an athlete for drugs? Oh, the irony!

I am sympathetic to her plight. At the same time, it is Russian law and while I think it is silly one really should abide by the laws of a country you are visiting.
Do the crime, do the time, once she is free let her be. Hope she learns from this, gets reformed and comes out a better person for this. I doubt she gets 10 years for a first Offense and remember it is usually a Day off for each Day Served, So lets say she gets 3 Years = 36 months meaning 18 Months that would be fair. this could be a good thing perhaps this will save her from an addiction problem, Misery, Homelessness and even Early deaths, Drugs have DESTROYED MANY PEOPLE, hopefully this gets her to avoid any illegal drugs in the future. Drugs are SERIOUS look at how many in the USA in the last couple of years, 5 years or less or even 10 years is still better than death by overdose.

No one's dying from vape overdoses. Probably safer than fast food.
