She always seemed like a nice girl. Good luck to her 👍

Two thoughts:
1) Didn't she just start working with Mike Smith?
2) Does this point to a move to the roads/marathon in her near future?
Based on all that Emily Infield has gone through the last couple years (injury and trauma from that insane stalker), I'd venture to say that this is a good fit.
I would guess that Mrs. Infield needs a coach who is supportive and willing to work with her on a personalized approach... 2 things that I believe she was lacking from Jerry's group but that Jon Green seems particularly suited for (based on what we know about his partnership with Molly Seidel).
There is no question that Emily Infield is a talented runner hopefully her and Jon can work together to put it all together again.

I was thinking the same thing. Didn't she just get a new coach a few weeks ago?

And you know this how?
You don't work either so why are you judging others, loser?
No. People just *said* she was working with Mike Smith when she went to Flagstaff because she's friends with Rachel Schneider and went to Georgetown.
In a recent Ali on the Run episode she says she might run a marathon in Fall 2023 if things keep going well and she stays healthy

Hoya Saxa!
Doesn’t matter who the coach is, as long as they aren’t a complete idiot.
fast athletes will run fast, with a coach or without.

Wish her the best. Obviously a distance talent but I can’t imagine the pressure of living up to that and fearing for your life everywhere you go.
horrible with that stalker story.
i hope she gets back and enjoys some road success. She still has more in her

Respectfully disagree. Fast athletes CAN run fast with or without coaching but they may not run smartly or train smartly to run fast for more years. But again, every person is different and needs different levels of coaching/involvement to do that.
I think this is a great fit . She already has Olympics and a WC medal , but she will surprise many in the 10k and road distances this year .
I am hopeful this is a good fit and really rooting for her to make the Eugene 10k team. Seems like she’s had some really solid training all fall and winter after a strong summer that saw her run 14:54 and PR in the 1500m. I was always incredibly impressed that she seemed able to come back from injury and almost immediately get into ~31:00 shape with little more than a few weeks/months of consistent running, and if she stays healthy until USA’s she will definitely be in PR shape.
the problem is I’m not sure that will be good enough this year. The women’s 10k is looking insanely deep with cranny, monson, kelati, sisson(?), potentially Schweitzer. Plus Keira D’Amato very well be formidable as a 2:19 marathoner who is likely in sub 15:00 5k shape (15:04 in a time trial in 2020 when she was way less fit than she is now) and since she is targeting the half marathon world championships that will lend itself well to 10k racing. It is going to be a real dog fight to make that team if everyone stays healthy.
Add in Fraser if she's healthy. She's ran 14:47, but I think she's an even better 10k runner. Also Schneider, she doubled back well after the 5k at the trials last year and will be fresh with better weather this year.
