posted an instagram story of stopwatch, similar to the 4:03 post from a few weeks ago. Also she includes that she’s preparing for something “fun” in a few weeks. Any guesses what it could be?? A few of her teammates are racing a 10K in a few weeks, is it something to do with that???
Is there still some sort of appeal option available to her like the Swiss Federal Tribunal? Why work this hard if you are not going to see competition for another three years? Stay in shape, plot your revenge tour, etc. but why be going this hard unless your legal team truly thinks that a higher court is going to nullify your suspension?
I've said before on these boards that I think she's guilty of doping (and also complicit in concocting a BS story to try and excise it), but it makes sense for her to continue training at this level while there's still a tiny possibility that the Swiss court will let her re-open her appeal. For her sake, I hope that court moves quickly on this as she's in limbo right now - she should know whether she has to move on for a few years
Why does any non-professional in the world run, train, and try to PR? Maybe.. idk.. maybe she like.. idk.. I mean.. maybe she uhh… likes running? Idk, I’m probably wrong.. it’s just a wild thought. Who the heck actually likes to run?? Certainly nobody on this site.
Technically incorrect, de facto correct enough. CAS is based in Switzerland so one can appeal CAS decisions to either the top Swiss Federal Court and/or if somehow your rights have been violated the ECHR. Ignore the latter as it isn't applicable here.
If she were to win in Switzerland, my understanding (though unsurpassed I am not an expert in Swiss law), is that the best case scenario is that the court could order a re-trial at CAS.
The very narrow legal needle she is trying to thread is that one judge dissented on the question of due process. So try get the Swiss court to agree with that judge, get a retrial and push that argument and hope you swing one more judge on the due process point. If she can win that, the question of how the substance got there becomes irrelevant (legally, but these boards would of course keep discussing it).
That's a whole boat load of "if" statements which she needs all to fall her way. So you could (ironically or cruelly depending on your POV) say while Houlihan does have a theoretical legal path back to competition, there is a cascading waterfall of improabilities required such that it would be almost impossible to see it happening.
all of this is just an embarrassment at this point. I used to like Shelby. But she's acting so ridiculous.
I just have to say...wouldn't it be funny if she just ran her watch and stopped it at 4:03 and 14:47, without doing a thing?
Shelby is not innocent. There is no possible way she can be considered "innocent" after everything that has happened. Whether or not she intentionally doped (I believe she DID intentionally dope) she absolutely without a shadow of a doubt lied about the burrito. And she absolutely without a shadow of a doubt is aware of where the nandy came from.
Her lying to everyone, acting like this is some great injustice, grifting fans of the sport for money, allowing her friends to defend he, and acting like her progress is something worthy of attention is a joke to the sport. It's not. If the Swiss court is going to overturn her ruling then wait and stay in the wings until that happens. It's an insult to the sport and her competitors and friends that she keeps popping up and attempting to grab the limelight.

Nobody’s telling her not to run, but have you looked at her instagram? I’m not sure you can conclude anything other than it’s sad. If she’s guilty, and she likely is, then it’s sad because the level of denial and grifting is beyond belief, coupled with all the bs affirmations of her former teammates. Seriously, the pathology on display in this case is breathtaking. If she’s shockingly innocent, at least of the intent to dope, then it’s sad to witness the wreckage of somebody cast out unjustly. No matter what, it’s just plain sad.
