Would love to hear Letsrun nation's thoughts.
I personally did not. Not kid friendly and too many artists.
I'd be more interested in seeing how they make the stage in 10 minutes.

Loved it
Another Super Bowl lip synching performance. It was OK. You claim that it wasn't kid friendly? It was incredibly bland and rated PG! Aging artists mouthing their most radio friendly hits. Outfits with a load of body coverage and only mildly suggestive dance moves. This is the most watered down presentation of hip-hop that I have ever witnessed. If I had never heard a hip-hop song before, I would question why it was so controversial and frightening to some people?
Listened to far better stuff driving to the party and driving home, taking Harry Manx, Ry Cooder, Link Wray, Willy Deville.
Totally into what those artists do and what they are all about, but the way it had to be done just doesn't work for me. And when it comes to great music like I said listened to far better stuff on my way there and back.
Garbage music + Garbage “artists” + Garbage politics = Lame Show
The halftime show has jumped the shark.
I’m a millennial and I recognize that music has been garbage the last 40 years.
It was ok. Not great, not bad…just ok. I think nostalgia is what pushed it over the top for those who loved it.
It was gross, but I can see how the lowlife-dregs-of-society-type-people liked it.

What are they about. Their songs are about drugs, rape, crime, prison, murder, poverty, materialism, vulgarity, objectifying women, etc..
You are "about" those things?

Totally Agree. Every single Super Bowl performance is kind of the same way. Even some of the so called "best of the best of the best" like Prince leave me scratching my head why. Why do people act like it these things are earth shattering live music performances?
Every aspect of it is fake. If it were a real musical concert that you paid money for you would leave. But because it is during a sporting event we act like it is groundbreaking for some reason.
No. Overweight celebrities from previous decade showing up for a few minutes to lip-sync a couple verses from a couple songs doesn't do that much for me. I generally like the SB halftime shows; Shakira's segment a few SBs ago, for instance, was good. The one yesterday sucked.
I thought it was great. The set piece was amazing. The dancers were fun and added to the vibe.
As with all Super Bowl halftime performances, it was mediocre at best...

I was there. The white stage was premade in 6 individual parts. Each part was just slightly smaller than the width and height of the tunnel. Each part was on wheels and was pushed through the tunnel and onto the field by about 16 people, 8 people on each side. That only took about 2 minutes.
The more time consuming part of the set up was that big black tarp on the ground. It was in about 20 parts, and each part of the tarp had to be rolled out, smoothed out, and then connected to each other. Not sure if you could see it on TV, but it had lots of lanes circling around the outside part of it that made it look kind of like an 8 lane 200 meter indoor track.
The 3 cars were just driven in.
There were also about 15 - 20 large black boxes (mostly containing lights) that were on wheels that were put on the outside part of the tarp.
Altogether, about 200 people were involved in pushing everything onto the field.
I thought it was great, but it made me feel old haha.
Its funny people are accusing them of lip syncing, no way was Mary J lip syncing, she killed it.
Loved it. Skipped the game.
For reference, I'm 63. My father graduated HS in '56 with Lou Reed as a classmate. I graduated in '76 with Flavor Flav (not his name at the time!) as a classmate. Rock, Punk, Rap, it's all good!
I don't get how anyone can not dig Snoop.

Yeah, I like Snoop, but as a football fan I didn't pay attention to commercials or the half time show. Mercifully I didn't watch it with non-fans who come for that and don't understand the game.
Loved it except Mary j.
It evoked memories of high school. There are many different types of music. I have no problem with them exploring different genres so long as they keep it mostly clean (which they did). The dancing is always a little over the top. It wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst either. It's essentially an ad for Pepsi and an ad for the artists.
Let's be real. Those who didn't like it are racist. Period.
