Previous best sub-4 debut was probably Holman with 3:53.31 in 1991.
Wow I had no idea Beadlescomb hadn't broken 4 before. I assumed he had since, you know, he's been showing that sort of fitness for awhile now. Congrats to him!!

Yeah, too many qualifiers.
I bet if he didn't make that move to get caught on the outside with 200m to go he would've run 3:51. With different splits 3:50 could be doable for him. Collegiate record? Would be cool for him to get that bit I wouldn't be too excited since he's like a 7th(?) year senior...
