Best 5k X 2 and add a Minute is a Formula that is pretty accurate so 2 x 12:48 X 2 = 25:36 add 1 Minute = 26:36
But he is more a 1500/5000 Runner than 5k/10k and he is Young for a Distance Runner (Endurance improves into late 20's to early 30's for Most people, so my guess is 26:45-27:05 if he ran it this year in a Time Trial type Race, but he will likely be sub 26:30 before his career is over.
he ran 27:50 alone in a random road race in Norway when he was 18, during the off season, in a rainy day, without any warm-up, having to remove his jacket during the race (arrived late to the race) starting behind hundreds of hobby joggers and running a last k of like 2:36 or something alone.

Yeah he certainly was faster than 27:20 “last year at his peak.” He ran a 12:48 5k for goodness sakes. He would of run 26:40s then.
The thing is that he’s always “trained for it”. He does mass reps at 5-10k pace year round. Like the 25 x 400 meters at 5-10k pace workout he does weekly. Along with averaging 100 mile ish weeks.
So Jakob could throw down a sub 27 10k whenever he wanted.

+1 He is running 115 miles in the base training period.

Kiplimo would have run 27 flat in the same race, when he was 16.
