This thread was initially titled, "Nike CEO thanks China for letting American's Wear the Swoosh and Honor China."
I changed the title of the thread as I thought the 1st title was misinformation as I never say the CEO say what the title said he did.
Why is this thread trending after two posts?
Why does this thread even exist? Those comments are eight months old and he was talking about business in China for Chinese consumers. Most of the shoes you buy in the U.S. are made in Vietnam.

Americans like to ignore what they're too uncomfortable to address. Thus child slave labor in a communist country across the world is irrelevant to them. Instead we have SJWs lashing out about trivial matters and people bending the knee to the hysteria to save face.
The BTC uniforms are the same Color as the Chinese Flag . Every bouncy in your next percents helps a Chinese family . 🇨🇳

BTC are true blue home grown American dopers. Nothing to do with China.
One of many companies that underestimated the risk they were taking when they put their future in the hands of an authoritarian communist regime. China has these companies by the balls. Fools gold.
Long term these companies are going to be cast aside by the CCP. Home cooked brands will completely push them out of the Chinese market, and Chinese labor costs will soar.

I am against racism. I support taking a knee. I am vehemently against child labor and human rights violations.
I am also pro-life, anti - Southern, anti-Texan, anti-Brojo.
I'm also pro-mask, pro-vax, and pro-lockdown.
I'm the true SJW who has been such for decades.

Anti-Southern and anti-Texas? You think people in Texas and the entire South are all the same? That’s pretty discriminatory.
Do you own an iPhone or a pair of Nikes? Or are you just against child labor in your own mind. I’m guessing you have quite a few articles of clothing made in China or other Asian countries with less than comfortable working conditions.

Yes and yes. Anti -both. I believe you are all the same and I'll take that categorization to the grave...yeehaw. It's discriminatory but I don't owe y'all fairness. No iPhone. And I suppose I have some articles of clothing made in countries with awful working conditions, but I buy it because people need clothing, not because I ignore the injustices. I won't buy Nikes for that reason.

There's always an explanation because I'm not complicated

Nothing is stopping you from buying American-made clothing.

You see that all the time with climate change. “The government needs to do something about climate change! As I drive my SUV half a mile for some McDonalds drive thru.”
I would pay more for Nike shoes if they manufactured them in the USA vs. China. I don't think I'm alone in that opinion. They could offer the same shoe. Pay less for the Chinese made shoe. Pay more for the shoe made in the USA. I would pay more. Fuc# China!
What does it mean to be anti-Southern, anti-Texas?
I am not sure I understand the personal comments.
I think having a supply chain dependent on the PRC is riskier today than ever. My brother, a well known economist, informs that the China's impact on inflation should not be underestimated. Their shutdown levels due to COVID have been significant, wreaking havoc on supply chains.
As far as meeting Chinese consumer demand, well, it is an enormous country with lots of demand. The question is how much to trust the PRC and its ability to limit business and return on investments. A difficult problem. The risks vary by business.
I think the way forward is to have no illusions about China and Xi. But that doesn't mean dropping activity with them entirely. Just no easy answers.
