Welp, there is zero evidence of a potential injury presented in this thread. However, if it floats your boat to speculate about something that you can't get any more information about, go for it.
Athletes get injured. It happens. It's usually not a big deal. So even if she was injured, it wouldn't really matter.
She ran a fast 3k 2 weeks after NCAA xc. I wouldn't be surprised if she took 1-2 weeks off after that race and is just slowly easing back into training. She might not race for a few more weeks. No reason to over race during indoor if you already have a qualifier for NCAA Indoors.
So, is Starliper going to make a debut?

great now for the next year every race she does people can add "impressive given she is coming off injury". I thought we were finally past those comments. ugh
One of the top high school runners of all time is going to be discussed on a running message board. Sorry. Same with other sports.
Anyway she missed one meet where the distance team has run so far, and is not scheduled to run in the next one 15 days after. Maybe resting. Maybe recovering from illness. Maybe a slight injury or strain and her coaches decided to be cautious. Who knows? She also already has a qualifying time in the 3000m.

I thought you only posted about doping?
I told everyone over a week ago that she got hurt! She may not run until outdoors to be safe and smart.
Too bad. I had her pegged to break 15 this year.
I'm multifaceted.

This is up in the air again! This is the second season in a row that she was scheduled to race and she got injured the same week she was to race. The first was NC State’s home opener this past CC season, and she got hurt again the week she was scheduled to run the 1000 at Clemson. So this Saturday is unknown. She really needs to consider transferring to her second pick NAU! Mike Smith knows what he is doing. Obviously the coaching staff at NCS does not know how to handle a low mileage, low track work blue chip recruit! You need to have a long term plan for a runner who outperformed other elite runners that were doing 15 miles more a week and were doing track workouts weekly. You have to progress them slowly and be patient. Heck her Sr year of HS indoor track she beat all the NC State women in the 3000m at Boston. NCState is ruining her career! Now Tuohy’s hurt?!?! They seem to always have injuries there….. maybe that is why they recruit so many women…. Survival of the fittest philosophy? I feel bad for those ladies.
This isn't good. But sounds like nobody really knows. I don't think anyone really knows if she ever had knee surgery either. I hope she is okay.
Injuries in women's distance running, especially in the 18-20 age group, are very common. Of the top high school distance running recruits, who hasn't bern injured in the last few years. Seems like virtually all of them have. And other top runners were injured or suffered health issue in college. Starliper's injuries began in high school so no reason to blame the college coaches, the low mileage boilerplate aside. I keep saying that on the women's side the challenge is to get the athlete through into their early 20s without a chronic injury and build from there. Patience is important. The typical college runner, like collegd wrestlers, will red shirt and be on a 5 year track, and in distance running 6 year tracks are common. It is a tough sport.

If she was a low mileage, low track workout girl then NC State was the wrong choice for her. That's poor research on the family's part. It's no secret NC State is a meat grinder program.
