Incredible but legitimate progress over the years. He started out as an 8:38.10 -3000 m runner at age 17 back in 2014 and then the next year 2015) at age 18 he ran a 4:16.31 mile. This was good but the US college recruiters were not coming and knocking at his door or phoning him. The next year in 2016 he ran a solid 14:31.16, good enough to run for a solid D2 program in the United States but this Yorkshire man was still not interested in going to the USA.
In 2018 at age 21 things started coming together and he showed a good improvement in speed by running 3:45.21 for 1500 m at Stretford, near Manchester, on the super fast reputation track for personal bests.
2019 at age 22 he made a huge jump and ran a very impressive 13:37.55 -5000 in Belfast, knocking off a huge chunk from his best time the previous year of 13:54.43.
Forward to 2021 and then a very impressive 27:53.19 /10,000 at Birmingham in the British trials.
Today he placed fifth in a super deep 10 km road race in Valencia running 27:44 and beating many, many monsters. How far can this guy go? Perhaps others more familiar with him can post here, with thanks.
