Just letting you all know my plan, partially to expose the stupidity of student loan forgiveness. I am currently a first year master's student. There's a ton of flexibility with my program, and the University I attend really doesn't care about when I graduate as long as the money keeps rolling in. I am eligible for $20,500 of federal loans per year, more if I take out a PLUS loan, and cost of attendance at my university, if I only go 2/3 time is about $8,000/year. So, if student loans are going to be forgiven, I could extend out my MS degree 5 years, get my education for free, and pocket over $12,000 of free money per year for 5 years. And that is exactly what I plan to do if it comes out that student loans are going to be forgiven. It's free money. Why would anyone not do this?
