No Worlds at small places like Doha, Eugene. Mt Sac, UT Austin, Fayetteville, Woodward, Ichan. Worlds has to be in in South Manhattan, Hollywood, Las Vegas, etc. No suburbs, No mickey mouse collage towns. No JCs.

As soon as any of those places feel its important enough to build a Mickey Mouse stadium like the one in Eugene or better, they might be considered. Oh, and throw in a large amount of additional money to promote the meet for a 3rd tier niche sport in America.
True. Only huge ass cities should have WC, Summer Olys, NCAA Outdoors. It sucks to work so hard and be treated this way by World Athletics

South Manhattan? I work in "South Manhattan" at One World Trade Center. Yeah, maybe we could shut some of the soot-lined tunnels such as the ones to New Jersey or Brooklyn and race through those, even if they are hilly.
You are a rodeo clown.
I got my tickets to the little hick college town for next summer. We bought them as soon as they were available and they seemed to be going pretty quickly.
I’m looking forward to being able to watch the meet during the day and go for a run in the woods afterwards
Agree that they should not be held in Eugene and I love Eugene and the new stadium. Not enough hotels to accommodate a huge meet.

Same here. The fact of the matter is that Eugene and Nike/Phil Knight are keeping the sport alive here in USA and nowhere else. I'll go anywhere they have it but that weird little college town in the woods is the only place that wanted it. Im really looking forward to it and will deal with the crazy governor mandates as they come.
It's terrible how Olympic Sports went from community cable television to 3rd rate Cable to Teenage Camera run Fanboi Web in my lifetime. While any day now NFL, NBA, and MLB will be swalllowed up by $Trillion Chinese, Silicon Valley, and L.A. streaming companies run by geeks who work at home in their estates.
Nike didn't make the sport, the sport made Nike.
Then they sold us all out and took the sport for granted.
The net has been an impairment, not a boost.
Eugene bid and Eugene won whether you like it or not. But where else would we hold World's in the USA?
Des Moines - just as bad as Eugene for travel and brutally humid summer weather
NYC - track was tried there and the attendance was horrible
Stanford - no real stadium surrounding that facility
Mt. SAC - would be hotter than hell in late summer, stadium would probably only be 50% full, and half the Southern California crowd would leave before the men's 100M final to "beat traffic". That will look great on TV!
L.A. - might be a good site but, I am betting that USC tears out the track after the 2028 Olympics to create more football seating like they did after the 1984 Olympics.
Philadelphia - Penn's track doesn't really conform to WA standards, old stadium that needs major overhaul, gross summer weather
What other cities have a facility or can build one that can meet championship standards? Favorable weather?
Why is it even advantageous to hold WCs in big cities? Plenty of smaller towns have held successful Olympics, and some of the worst organized ones were held in big cities (Atlanta, Montreal)

True that!
Has anyone here actually ever BEEN to Lake Placid? I believe in Miracles!

Tell us more about how Eugene "won" the bid for world's.
I don't agree with the overwhelming majority view that Phil has bribed Seb and Max to diminish our sport to truck stop and Interstate traveler motel districts enumerated over and over again many times by coaches, elites, and d1 athletes.
Rather they are simply out of their class to the NBA, MLB, NFL and Amazon, Youtube, Alibaba, Apple , etc.
The former deals on terms on $10s of Millions, the later in terms of $1 to $100 Billions.
Seb, Max, Phil simply has no voice at all with the TV moguls in Silicon Valley, Manhattan, and Hollywood.
I like how you spectrum cases think track and field could become as big as the NFL in America.
Where is the parking going to be in Manhattan? What about living facilities?
They bid for the Olympics in Chicago, but lost. The main stadium was going to be in a bad neighborhood, south side.
We have to Re-Allocate, Vector, re-target $Billions in construction costs to prize money for Olympic Medalists.
Gold Medalists should have $1,000,000 prize money, $500,000 Silver, $250,000 Bronze, plus hefty stipends for all Olympians.
Summer Games should be held each year for T&F, XC, Half, Ekiden, and marathon to eliminate wothless, low TV ratings, insignificant, filler championships.
Summer Games should be at same venues each year.
Summer Games should be in a major, world destination city, with 52 weeks of outdoor running, cross country, roads, and winter track in outdoor venues.
Yes. I said we must have a YEARLY Summer Games.

Nowhere. You got to hold the meet in europe where you have it in the large cities.
