Beat me to it! 🤣 I was looking for the recent thread on her to share it there. Her choice...now to focus on her mental and physical health, though she still wants to compete professionally. Good luck to her!

It looks like she’s taking a step back from pro running entirely
I thought the post was incredibly graceful and well-written. I'm sure this must have been a tough decision for her, but she is so smart to be putting her mental and physical health first. She's made such an impact by speaking up about her struggles, and is an incredible role model for young runners. I will be cheering for her whether she's running at the Olympics in 2024, or whether she decides to never step on the track again.
It seems like she could be a more talented version of max king
Saw her at the Spokane Invitational Saturday in passing. Was wearing a Nike Seattle Pacific issue jacket & Brooks shoes, so I suspected something was up.
Allie is a volunteer coach at Seattle Pacific, so I'm assuming she's sticking around the Seattle area for the time being.

She was dropped by Brooks for not following through with her mental health/eating issues. Missing appointments and not following instructions of the professionals. This is NOT her choice. She is simply saying the right things to appease her fan base.

Easy to post, but unable to back it up.
Her choice... to reject a reduced offer to re-sign. She's not ready to be nakedly honest.
I have no idea the extent of her issues and I hope she gets happy and healthy.
On a recent visit to the Mayo clinic, my cardiologist and I were talking just as the crew from the eating disorders clinic walked through the main lobby. He grimaced and told me he wished that that group's problems were easier to solve. I guessed that the success rate here is not as high as I previously thought.
It is a rough disease.
it's hard for an older adult to see a great young person suffer. You only get your 20s and 30s once.
There was no offer.
Prove me wrong.
Good for her. Hopefully she takes a nice break and comes back better than ever.
Will Spencer’s dad be coaching her?
Was her earlier success due to her lighter weight from limiting caloric intake? I remember thinking before she started college that she was going to be the future of US distance running. Her range was so impressive and she seemed fearless. Then her college career was okay but not as disappointing as her pro career.
Look, if you have a serious eating disorder you will need to take time off from running to address it. It as simple as that.
She's done. Too bad because she was such a great little story from her high school days in Alaska. Tough as nails. She'll always have Doha. Best wishes to her.
