Jakob could run under 27 today.
If you don't believe that whatch his 10k 27:54 face, when he was 18, during the off season, totally alone, without warm-up, starting at the back of the pack and having to close a really big gap just to run with the leaders (he arrived late to the race, could not warm up, and was last on the start line, he didn't even have the time to remove his jacket before and had to remove it during the race). Once he catched up, he just ran a tempo with a really really fast last km and that was enough to run 27:54.
That guy is pure strength, last year he was running 3:28 off a 1:46 800, even his training is mainly years and years of threshold reps under 2:50km, twice a day, three times a week.
There is absolutely no doubt he would run under 26:30 with some preparation.
