We all know about Boulder and Flagstaff- altitude, dirt roads, sunshine, lots of elite/sub-elite runners, etc.
Lots of runners have moved there, yet there seems
to be a mounting wave of disillusionment.
Is there a place that:
* is above 5000’ but close enough to drive to low-altitude training grounds for workouts
* boasts a variety of dirt/paved roads and a public track
* has good enough weather for year around training
* has a few decent restaurants & supermarkets
* might be somewhat expensive but not as rich as the upper echelon ski resorts
* isn’t too isolated
So, where do you think the next great running mountain town will be?
