Cranny, Debues-Stafford, Fraser, Frerichs, Houlihan, Infeld, Schweizer . . . these 7 are the only ones who remain from the dozen that were on the team at this time last year.
Don't know about what kind of training arrangement Jerry & Shalane have with Shelby, but suspect that only the other 6 will be back in Portland shortly to resume their fall training together.
Reading between the interview lines, appears that former Stanford standout Ella Donoghu wanted to join up with ex-teammates Cranny and Fraser but was either told no or was not offered a competitive contract. Donoghu is now with Pete Julian's group so will be able to hook up with her ex-buds from time-to-time.
And, what ever happened to Lucia Stafford (GDS's sis) joining BTC? Thought it was a given she'd be on the team by now.
So, appears Nike/Jerry have closed the door on new female recruits for the 2022 season.
On the other hand, the men's team added Thomas Ratcliffe this past summer (now the 6th Stanford alumni on BTC -- there's your nepotism :-)) and is currently 13 guys strong.
These are the facts. Not going to speculate as to the whys.
However, anyone (Nikeman? Mr. Gault?) who has insights into the BTC's current composition or what might be coming down the track soon . . look forward to your posts.
