Watched some of it last night. Learned about a lawyer named Litton who tried to prosecute certain Nazi's before Hitler came to power. Cross examined Hitler once for 3 hours and Hitler always remembered him.
He was eventually sent to a concentration camp and committed suicide there. Wow, the Nazi's were horrible to everyone.

Very interesting part of rise of Nazism that you don't hear much about, nice post Greg. Unfortunately, the trolls are still going to come out lol
My grandpa always said that while his US Army buddie died in droves fighting Germany the generals of Italy, England, Netherlands, and France didn't launch one operation against Germany. They just sat back and claimed they had no bullets. Eisenhower and Patton were ordered by Roosevelt to ignore it and fight for America.

I doubt U.S. would have been able to defeat Germany, WW2 without Soviets. Soviets sacrificed significantly. Have to remember, the vast majority of both USN & USMC were in Pacific fighting Japan. I cannot see a way U.S. could have prevailed against Germany, WW2 without Soviets doing most of the fighting.
Apologist bozo, find something better to do than defend Nazi honor on the internet

My grandfather was in the Royal Air Force for Britain. I know for a fact you are saying is untrue.
By no means are the Americans solely responsible for defeating Hitler.

It is unfortunate that you lack the requisite intelligence to ascertain that I have never defended the Nazis. Never!
The Brits didn't pitch in any battles. The French either. Why the US kept fighting and defeated the Germans is a testament to the greatest country and the world's toughest battlefield army in human history.
This series were on PBS last fall (I think Oct.-Nov.)

Hitler's niece committed suicide as well.
You know, the more I learn about Hitler, the more I don't care for him.
Here is the PBS site.

Do you mean many Europeans and many in U.S. and many in South America collaborated with Nazis? That is correct. Powerful people. Some of these Nazis were allowed to move to Alabama and other states in U.S. and all over South America. Nazis had European and U.S. collaborators in 1930's. One had initials, P.S.B. If he name is spoken of in an unflattering manner on this site, thread will be deleted.

This is an inaccurate, incomplete assessment of the military history of the European theater (to include the eastern front, the western front, the Mediterranean, North Africa, the Middle East, Britain, the Atlantic, northern Europe, etc.) of the 2nd World War.
Unfortunately, this does more or less reflect what the average American seems to believe. Frankly, this makes our citizenry look dumb.

You know who WAS bad to absolutely everyone? Stalin.
The conservative establishment considered the Social Democratic Party as a big threat to their privilege, and thought Hitler was a useful idiot they could manipulate to defeat the left. Of course, they got completely outmaneuvered by their "useful idiot.'
Sounds a lot familiar to Americans today?

You are being too kind to Nazi lovers in Europe and U.S., 1930's. Nazi lovers in Europe & U.S., many loved everything Hitler stated and most of all they were enamored by Hilter's public speaking style.

Why would Italy launch an operation against Germany when they were allies?
