Takumi sen 7
Nike streaks, 7 or LT. Take your pick. The Takumi Sen are great flats, but not my cup of tea in terms of fit although I have a narrow foot so I tend to gravitate to Nike. Don't count out cross country flats, the Victory waffle 5 and Waffle 3 are great. The Waffle 3 have a nice carbon shank, not sure if that matters or not since they came out before the supershoes.
Altra Escalante racer. Skechers has a few too, the razor line and the horizon vanish.
Nb1400
Thanks.
Seems to be difficult to get the streak 7s, nike going all in on the vapour fly
Went with the Adidas pair
I appreciate the help
Saucony Type A-series are the greatest flats ever built. They've gotten a little bit away from what they were in the model 4/5s, but they're still brilliant.
Running warehouse let's you select traditional racing flats. Sadly there isn't much left and I wouldn't consider the shoes there with 30 mm stack heights flats. Saucony type a and fastwitch and streak lt 4 seem to be the last on the market. None may be a good fit for the marathon for a lot of runners.

Skechers Razor Excess 2 has a carbon fiber plate under the ball of the foot only. For runners who derive power and force from ankle flex this is a great shoe.
Full length carbon fiber plate prevents ankle flex = why it is such a bad shoe on uphills.
It may allow roll up onto the toe but that not the same as ankle flex.
Plated shoe non=responders should try Excess 2 or Takumi Sen 7 - 9.
Not exactly the same as a traditional flat, but the Brooks Hyperion Tempo is non-plated and amazing for running fast. Also, Nike Rival Waffle seems like a possible option for you.

just listed a couple new pairs of Nike Streak LT 4’s and a single new pair of Adidas Takumi Sen 7’s on EBay (all 13) for anyone looking for an old school flat. Waaaay too many shoes in the closet.
New Altra escalante racer 2 just came out. 22mm stack
