My thoughts are Kipchoge will dominate and take the gold. Would be great to see an underdog like Zane Robertson get one of the remaining two medals

Kipchoge might not win this one.
These are not ideal conditions, so it will be interesting to see what will happen.
I think Kipchoge has shown he is vulnerable but I still think he wins. Desisa second, Rupp in 3rd. Those guys know how to grind

London 2018 shows that Kipchoge can cope with heat. As long as he's still in shape, I think he can dominate.
Going off Kipchoges almost flawless domination of the marathon over the last several years - I believe the fairly recent race where he had the ear infection was a legitimate one off, I feel pretty confident he will be back to his winning ways.. That said however, there is definitely some strong competition in the field - Kiproto, Lemma, Cherona are all 2:03 guys.
Still at 5pm central u.s. time?
Yup doesn't look like the men's race has been shifted any earlier like the women's

I thought it's at 400 Central. Could be wrong
This is the debate in my house

London was only 23°,everyone who ran it appears to think it was in the 30's but it wasn't.
I think Kipchoge for the win. I want Rupp to get a medal and I'd like to see an unexpected runner have the race of his life and get the other medal.
I remember 1992, a German runner took 3rd and no one expected it.
Treacy and Spedding were surprises in 84.
I have a feeling it’s someone else who wins…Rupp in 5th
Hoping for that unexpected runner as well.. I'm going with Zane Robertson, although I'm a New Zealander also so some bias there!

Cam Levins takes gold, followed by the other two Canadians.
jk, Kipchoge, Desisa, Rupp. In that order.

Can we get a consensus on start time?? Can't imagine why they wouldn't move Men's forward an hour also.
Looks like same temps/humidity as yesterdays start time but with a bit more wind. Hoping they send them off an hour earlier. I don't mind weather being A factor, just not THE factor.
Still showing original 7am start in Sapporo - 6pm ET in U.S. Another hot one.
1. Lawrence Cherono
2. Eliud Kipchoge
3. Desisa
Yeah this is what I'm seeing as well.
Kipchoge will not win and when he realizes he won't medal he will DNF and I think Rupp DNF as well. Osako FTW I have bet 3k on him at 34/1 pays 100k also bet 1k on Rupp at same odds pays 34k.
