First one down, Purrier looked really poor. Not the 3:55/14:30 shape everyone was talking about after the trials. Did the pace take her by surprise? Even if it did, her kick was absent. Should be enough for a small q
Great run by Jess Hull and GDS

Remind her first five in each sheet plus fast is two to the final.
Any take on the accident in heat one in which two athletes went down incl. McGee and Chebet?

Typo:“ Remind her first five in each sheet plus fast is two”
Correct: “ reminder, first 5 + fastest 2 = final
Hassan looked tired
Comfortable second semi for Muir and Hassan. Great result for the Aussies with two women in the final.
Purrier safe, and McGee should get advanced, it looks like she was taken out. It might end up being a bit of luck for her as she had no chance in that semi

Yes, but she still has a margin of error over the others.

Not bad
McGee and Chebet - they both tripped in the first heat - did anyone see what happened?
Tragic for both.

McGee taken out? She took out Winny Chebet. Ran too close and clipped Chebet's feet I thought though haven't seen a replay. Either way, McGee struggled in the heats, was working hard in the semis. If she gets advanced she'll be a non-factor.

Purrier owes Tanaka/Freweyni/GDS a beer for pushing the pace. Heck, if GDS had slowed things on the second lap her sister might have snuck in on a time q.
It just doesn't get this hot and humid up on that farm in Vermont.
Kipyegon looks great.
Hopefully she beats Hassan.

Didn't they have similar weather in Oregon when she won the trials?
Looks like Lucia Stafford just barely missed the last q. I’ve been impressed with her this season

Is track becoming like soccer? You flop in order to advance?
In the first semifinal, the leader went out in 62.5. The announcer - "Oh so slow, they are dilly-dallying." The other one - "They are lollygagging." They spend the next 300 meters laughing at their cleverness.
The first lap was 62.5. In a women's 1500 meters.
Don't tell me that any of these track announcers deserve to be employed, because they don't.
