he def doesnt look as fit as someone like yee, luis, iden or pearson.
He has the half IM world record.

I not sure which guys swam during the boat melee, but surely I'm thinking that must take a little off their relaxation.
Also, maybe this norwegian guy does more treadmill training. He couldve been humidity adjusted. Also he was wearing white, could've helped with heat.

What a champion.
If you don't fall to the ground after the finish and vomit, did you actually even race?
Saw him win a junior race in Australia 10 years ago with a 15:07 5k in 100 degree weather....reported to have vo2 max over 90
Has run 1:07 for the run portion of the half iron man twice I think. Some of the slow twitch threads have interesting commentary
i thought for sure his big move with 1K or whatever to go wouldn't work, but he just kept pulling away. that uniform is so funny though. the briefs! either way it's cool to see a tough effort instead of a sit and kick type of thing. kudos to him.

The Norwegian's really have the endurance sports down to a science.

I know, right? And it wasn't measured with a piece of rope and timed with a sundial. Like all tri courses, this was precisely calibrated.
BTW, whatever became of that bikie who selfied on youtube with a 13:10 road 5K time trial in his local park? Is he now dominating the pro track circuit?
That dude was hauling in the last mile. He could not believe nobody went with him. Awesome to watch.

166cm and 74kg (5'6" and 163 lb). He is muscular but not fat in anyway, you could see his sixpack under the white tri suit.
Ran for as a Norway in the Euro XC Juniors as a teenager.

Lol, dude has lower bad fat percentage than 99% of letsrun and he’s a fat man.
The “fat” man ran an 8:11 3k time trial with the 2nd best Norwegian triathlete in May in the midst of a 32 hour training week. They train similar to the XC skiers with hyper-polarized training. Think 8-9 minute pace running on volume days with very very hard interval days. 1200 plus training hours per year.
That’s hilarious. Fat? Some runners have a really distorted view of what fitness can look like. This guy is an incredible endurance athlete.
Chunky, balding, puked at the line. Total badass!

obviously he is fit and aesthetics dont mean anything in triathlon, but you have to admit he has a weird build for a world class endurance athlete. didnt realize he was only 5'6" tho...confirmed manlet.

Uh huh, right. That’s not all they have down to a science.

Half wrong.
They do focus on very easy for the easy days.
But their intervals are pretty much all threshold. They are very much about slowing down and doing higher volume intervals.
That Triathlon Show has some good interviews with their coach. All about intensity control and not going too hard
