Nice!
I know she wants to be a 400/800 runner but if she can run a 4:41 without focusing on training for the 16 at all you have to wonder how fast she can crank a mile if she was training for it. Either way Im so happy for her for getting this award. A great kid and the best violinist who happens to run track out there...

I like Hobbs Kessler (not poster Kobbs Hessler, although that person might be solid too, I don't know) and hope he can keep his head when others around are losing theirs.
He seems grounded and modest. Hope he can stay that way.
Hobbs is articulate, level headed and whip smart, beyond his elite running abilities. Very nice to see this energy in the sport. Too many athletes are vapid, or worse: snorting, grunting, proud-to-be-dumb infants whose idiocy is inversely proportional to their talent.
Seems like a good test for the new NCAA NIL 'rule'. Hope it works out for him and he can train with the NAU team.
Congrats to both these young studs. Looking forward to watching them improve in the coming years!

Holy sh*t is Hobbs an impressive kid. The depth of thoughtfulness, intelligence, and judgement displayed in his responses to Jon's questions --about *every* aspect of his situation-- is really pretty stunning for an 18-year-old.

When you run a 52x 400m, the question answers itself.
