"Thomas had been banned in May by the AIU for allegedly missing three tests in a 12-month period, a violation of anti-doping rules."
Yes she was cleared, but a Harvard graduate should be able to follow the rules.

It's BS that she was cleared. She should be serving a ban right now.

I could share no joy in her performance. I just see these cheats as actors and actresses.
Smart, beautiful, and talented, so I give her a pass.

Why are we even letting these pros run around wherever they want?
Put them in an official training camp and don't let them run away, I say.
That is indeed an interesting story.
In my recollection: after getting informed by AIU about the three missed tests, she couldn't provide any evidence to the contrary, so she got indeed banned in May.
Then in June she submitted new evidence after all and indeed got cleared (one missed test taken off the record).
That much is clear. As far as I know, the following is still unclear:
1) Why didn't she submit her evidence when prompted for it?
2) Which kind of evidence did she submit?
2a) She claimed phone data and witnesses.
2b) AIU said only "new evidence".
Did AIU ever publish the details of this case?
dumb people don't get into harvard even if they are a talented minority. There are min scores. Some teams can average out their recruiting class ie 1-1600, 1- 1500, 1-1400. but the min is still very high. I think you have a better chance bribing a coach to get into an Ivy but that's just a hunch.
The whereabouts loophole is one of the easiest ways to defeat doping controls. You miss a couple and you can be cycling PEDs the whole time with the drugs clearing kong before the matter is finally resolved.

Your recollection is false. After her ban was announced, she immediately said she would produce evidence that one of the missed tests was invalid. In quick order she did, and the AIU admitted the tester screwed up and lifted the ban. She missed two tests which isn't ideal, but if she never has this problem the rest of her career I don't see why it makes sense to act like it's some glaring red flag.

wow, what a glaring red flag
