Why was Reed Brown DQd?
Why was Reed Brown DQd?
Impeding another athlete according to the results
Betting it has something to do with Ben Blankenship.
Seemed like in an attempt to qualify he passed on the inside and stuck his shoulder past the other runner, don’t know if the dq came earlier though.
On TV it didn't look like brown interfeared with Franco at the end, but I guess he slightly bumped him resulting in the DQ.
No way kiptoo wins.
Anyone got videos from the 1500 heats? Missed it since I don't have ESPNU.
See for yourself.

Didn't see anything remotely deserving of a DQ. Bizarre.
Didn't look like a DQ. Sucks for Brown.
Vin would shut this shlt down so fast.

I mean he clearly didn't have room to pass the guy on the inside. If there had been another lap, he would have had to have been DQd as he'd have either rammed the guy or gone on the infield.
But since he timed it perfectly at the finish line, i thought it was perfect. He didn't step on the infield until after the race was over. It's like a wide receiver who gets both feet in. I thought it was amazing.
now if he'd rammed the guy after the finish line, I would have been ok with a DQ as well as even though it was after the race was over, that's dangerous. But the only one who was in danger was himself.
Go to 8:35 in the race video that was posted here and you'll see him make contact with Dodd of Michigan right before he goes down. Any chance that's why he was DQ'd?
The DQ was from the finish after BYU protested. Not from the middle of the race where the Michigan guy tripped himself and took down the Nebraska kid. Wrongful DQ and Reed Brown is shi out of luck
Thats a DQ? For what? As Rojo says correctly here, he would have had a hard time staying on the track ten M more, but at the instant? No DQ there, I watched it five times..not sure I get the infraction?
saw the protest sheet posted at the meet. BYU's Ed Eyestone protested that Brown "flagrantly impeded his runners forward momentum at the finish line" so the infraction was at the finish line.
Reed Brown could be the biggest towel in the NCAA, but I honestly feel bad for him... that really sucks.
wow, Ed Eyestone should know better..and should be DQ'ed himself for FLAGRANT exaggeration!
Man, Kipsang is so smooth with so much speed and power. Bummer this guy is not going to be an Olympian. He has potential post-college to run sub-3:32.
