Race wasn’t tactical, couldn’t keep with the heat of his opponent’s kick.

We do not know about his training or whether he is off the PEDs in his cycle.
He's a distance runner, that was a fast pace for him.

I know all of this, the point is that he can't afford to leave races to a kick, and this 1500 proves it. 3:37 shouldn't be too fast for him to throw down at the end, but instead eats the dust of his opponents. He needs the 5000/10000 to be sub 12:50 and 26:40
Elevation 3901 ft. so probably worth a couple seconds faster? Not a bad season opener.
So funny that some dingbats were actually saying last year that he's good enough to beat Jakob in a 1500. Unbelievable. No way could he even beat Gressier.
Why do we even bother with coaches, science and individual training plans? Here’s a guy who knows exactly what a double WR holder needs. He knows exactly where JC is in training, what his mind-set is like, how tired he was, what his race goals were and what races he’s preparing for and, ya, it’s all wrong. Amazing! Close down US athletics....fire the coaches.... this guy already knows what every athlete needs.
He needed you to pace him
He ran a solo 3k in his 5k wr build up that was essentially a world record conversion he is going to be completely fine
I'd say it's a decent result for him. Clearly he's a 5K/10K guy and he drops down to a much shorter distance and runs a very competitive time at a very high altitude.
Cheptegei closed his 26:48 gold medal run in Doha faser than Donovan Brazier closed his 1500 last night.
in his interview after cheptegei seemed pretty happy. musagala is a 3:30 runner. with the altitude that is probably worth 3:35-3:36 front-running the whole way. i think that's a decent result from him.
Wait. Let me make sure i'm understanding this correctly.
So CHeptegei loses a tight race at 3900 feet of altutide to the national record holder of Uganda at 1500 (Ronald Musagala who has run 1:45/3:30) and people say he's finished?
Hey rojo, YOU said stick a fork in Jenny Simpson after one race as well... I don’t think you get to comment on this one🤐
Bro it’s late April like you expect homeboy to be in peak shape all year around 🤦🏾♂️
Since when is Chep link to PEDS find me an article if you can 🤔
At 3900ft, I expect he'd finish close to a 3:30 runner.
Nobody runs 12:30s for 50000 without 1:46/3:31 speed at least.
The day I learned he lost a race face to Kiplimo, I know he is not a kicker.
(altitude or not)
His PR is 3:37.82.
Kiplimo has run 7:26 outkicking Jakob ingebrigtsen. In addition he now boasts range of 7:26 up to 57:37. Im not sure losing a race to Jacob Kiplimo means much of anything.
