Would it be a good idea to do a few faster reps after my tempo run? I was thinking of doing this tomorrow.
3.5 mile tempo
5 min break (change shoes)
4x200 @mile pace (1:30 rest in between)
Also I am trying to peak for a 16/32 in early june.

If I’m not toasted after a tempo, I like to follow with something like 2x400 at mile pace just to spin the legs while fatigued. 4x200 will have basically the same effect.
I’d say go for it!
Sounds good! The faster stuff will feel surprisingly easy, it's a good way to get the legs moving while they are a bit tired. Just don't overdo it on the tempo
yup.
I find these types of workouts incredibly helpful, especially for the mile to 5k training (but they should work for even longer distance goals).
Or short-moderate length hill work at VO2 max effort.
Yes. This is a genious idea and I am a high advocado for repeats after a tempo.

To the OP: Yes, that’s called strides and it’s fine to do at the end of any workout, or any run really. Could even be faster. I like to keep it around 20 seconds ON, 60 seconds jog, repeat 4-6 times.
To Sham69: I’m glad you are a high avocado. Me too.
yea, it's a good idea, first because you'll get your legs moving after a decent effort, and second you won't overdo the tempo because you know you'll have some quick 200-300m reps left at the end.
i am a strong advocate of 3-5x300m, walk the curve rest after a tempo
*advocado

Bumping this - I've done sometimes reps at 1500 to 800 pace (200m) and pure 1500m (300m). But about half the time I've jogged a mile between tempo and the reps, while other times I'd just spike up and do the reps immediately. Is there a big physiological difference?
I think that was a staple of the Tinman club.
