Please let it work. I'm so sick of pseudo-sports like X-games, "Ninja Warrior," and the worst: televised poker.
I really think that if a league like this gets televised it could help grow the sport a lot for viewers and fans. Most Americans like to watch team sports in a league structure, if this had some sort of team and league structure I think a lot of people would watch it compared to the current non-league running scene.
Just imagine a track athlete draft lol

Looks like we're going to have some pro indoor meets in the US this year which is great.
Jon Gault is working on a story.
I've been on vacation the since Xmas but knew an outdoor meet is being organized in Texas. I was starting to wonder if the best we were going to get was some outdoor meets in the South this winter. Why not have a "Winter Nationals" outdoors in Florida?
USA Indoors still doesn't have a date so I'm not confidenct in USATF doing anything.
But instead it sounds like a lot of people want to have indoor track. Paul Doyle is going to make sure it's going to happen. Plus New Balance Boston meet is still on the schedule. A lot of the colleges are turning inwards and excluding non-conference teams, etc so we needed someone to fill the void and there should be opportunities for the pros.

We did try a version of this that didn't stick a little while back. Maybe this will be better.
Let's just hope they've figured some stuff out since this mess of a "production" they did - good concept, but horrible show. A bad product to the public can do more harm then good.
what a joke the usatf is. Indoor Nationals will not happen. At this point that meet is supposed to happen in 5 weeks. It's also amazing how few division 1 programs have their indoor schedules up and posted.

Don't fart on my cornhole
https://www.espn.com/video/clip/_/id/11244789Cornhole is a glorious pinnacle of athletic excellence compared to most of the crap that passes for sports programming today. (ESPN: Men in suits yapping about other people playing sports.) How about a new Olympic biathlon event: cornhole pitching combined with cross-country running?
We could call it "Nerdic Combined."
ESPN has a history of making some quick money off of minor sports and then ruining them.
Whoever is in charge of the contracts should proceed with caution.

The version tried is the organization that put out the original tweet. I'd say it stuck around.

Nobody is going to care about some random teams that you through together. You aren't going to recreate that dual meet vibe from HS/college no matter how hard you try. Or even team scoring at nationals.
No sport is minor to those that participate.
