Josh or Brandon?
Wasn't Mo after this record? Or the WR for it.
Seems a soft record, so just up Mo's street.
So basically a 59:30-35 or so HM.
If it holds it is a slight improvement over his 59:48, 2:04:48 PBs
That is not an improvement... 34 Meters in 12 seconds would be very Slow.
That depends on the pacing. After a fast half marathon you might be pretty tired. After his 59:48 he might have been ready to fall over.
(2.05.48 to be correct. )
Six second behind his half PR on his way.
I think he is in his best shape ever. Running sub 60 pace (half), all alone for the last 45 minutes. With one more month of training, on top of this self-esteem boost he will be able to give Mo a big challenge on Hailes one hour record run.
But he is very sensitiv to hard openings or speed changes....

No Brussels for Moen. He'll be at the start of London Marathon in October.
Maybe Wanders for Brussels with Farah or pacemaking duties in London as i heard rumours.
These for Wanders in case the World Half are postponed or cancelled. Otherwise they have to choose.
Oh. I hope for Moen's sake that the course will be fast. He's in shape to run a PB, but not in shape to hook up with kipchoge and bekele (I guess...) I can't see the big interest in becoming nr 5 running 2.08...

Josh was a D3 legend. Brandon was a letsrun legend. I bet 95% of the people on this thread are new here and have no idea what your username means.

Slokvik: "The Norwegian Federation sent earlier this week a TUE-request re Sondre Nordstad Moen and use of shoes. We have not received any answer so we wait on the WA decision." @Norsk_Friidrett
Per new World Athletics regulations:
“Note (ii): To assist athletes adjusting from their current shoes that do not meet the sole thickness heights set out in the table to Rule 5.13.3, the date for compliance is 1 December 2020.”
Looks like athletes can go for it in thick shoes on the track for the rest of the year.
It’ll be interesting to see what Farah goes with for his hour attempt in Brussels.

Update: from the Dutch federation - WA informed the member federations in an addendum that it intended the December compliance date for field events and specifically said it’s not for distance races:

via Google translate:
“It is important to note that the intention of footnote (ii) is to accommodate athletes who have already been wearing shoes over the limits stipulated in the table to give them time to adjust. It was specifically written with field events athletes who may have specific known medical issues with their feet (ie which can be proven) in mind. The footnote is not an open invitation for athletes to start wearing shoes over the limits stated in the table between now and 1 December. Furthermore, when specifically asked about their track shoes, the information we received from manufacturers was that there were not any track shoes with a sole thickness greater than 25mm. For example, to start wearing a 40mm shoe in a 10,000m event is not permitted as the maximum authorized sole thickness is expressly stated to be 25mm.”
Would you be kind enough to explain what this means then? English is not my first language, and I’m a bit confused.
Sole thickness has to be less than 1 inch
What was his 20,000m split time?
I would assume that it was faster than Castro’s 57:18.4 European record. No? Otherwise, he would have covered his last 1.131km in 2:41.6, which is obviously impossible.
No scholarship limits anymore! (NCAA Track and Field inequality is going to get way worse, right?)
