As well as a 13 flat and 13:02. Pretty impressive.

good coach
Hopefully Centro gives it another go at some point. Then I don’t think anyone else has a chance for a bit until the young guys are a little older.
How many in actual races versus contrived time trials?

Did they or did they not run under 13:00 for 12.5 laps around a track?
Han Solo,
Do you have any good Bowerman Training Logs?

Sadly no. Just the base phase stuff that I posted in a prior thread.
I'd rather watch a "contrived time trial" than a championship race where the field does a group tempo run and then a 400m sprint off...

Can you please repost?
I would definitely rather watch a real race with tactics and pace changes than a contrived time trial.

It’s likely...
Long run , two workouts a week, and mileage. Just like most other programs.
Its talent, team atmosphere, and long term patience that makes the difference.

Plus one vote for the contrived time trials. Races are nice but I fell in love with running as a kid when we ran our hardest and tried to PR every time regardless of where the competition was on the track. I’m loving these fitness tests!

Yeah I was always bemused by Bannister's sub 4 minute mile with obvious pacing, when pacing was actually illegal.
Mo 12:47
Solinsky 12:55
Teg 12:58
Jager 13:02

If they did it in Monaco or Paris, would it be any less of a "contrived time trial"?

But only 2 in Diamond League or above races.
95% pacing shouldn't count either.
