People couldn't keep their health care plans because their premiums shot way up. After Obama said they would go down $2500 a year.
For most people, premiums went down or they were able to afford health insurance for the first time.
Uh nope. For MOST people, premiums went up. That's what happens when you force high risk people into everybody's insurance pool. And this is after they claimed premiums would go down for everybody.
I'll go first. Hillary Clinton colluded with a Russian agent who lied to the FBI about sources for a fake dossier in order to launch the Mueller investigation.
nah. lie.
HRC hired a law firm that contracted with steele, who was not a russian agent.
Neither the DNC nor HRC knew the contract was let out to Steele. That was done by Fusion GPS.
Unless I misunderstand your allegation, which is possible. Feel free to add names and details.
But most likely no, you couldn't say a statement that was 100% true. Not surprising.
A Trumpette posting a 100% true statement? This, I've got to see!
And you are doing even more lying. No one is proposing government censorship. You too are amplifying disinformation. You too are the cause of the problem.
it is pretty much a mathematical formula:
right wing politics = lies and disinformation and conspiracy.
Reflexive defender of the establishment lies on every topic.
In his defense, I think he believes all the lies
Wow, the absolute #1 liar on all of LRC tries to call one of the most balanced and fair posters on LRC a liar?
any right wingers want to attempt a true statement?
Anyone 'conservatives' want to stretch their wings real wide and dare to write a 100% true sentence?
It should be clear that little or none of this is about actual conservatives versus liberals.
It's about people who CALL themselves conservatives but who are really Trumper cultists (any actual conservative political philosophies taking a VERY DISTANT back seat).
I have only the fuzziest idea how much I ACTUALLY have in common with people who call themselves conservatives on this board. What I know is that it's meaningless in comparison to the disgust I feel for their embrace of dishonesty, anti-democracy, indecency, blatant hypocrisy, PURE tribalism, etc.
You can obviously be against, say, high taxes, and against abortion, and less inclined to give LOTS of tax money to everyone, etc., without being any of the horrible things just listed (and so many more).
Having said all that, am I shedding any tears for American "conservatives" being painted with too broad a negative brush because of Trumpism? Nope. Because, as the R polling shows, the vast majority R/supposed conservatives are on the Trump team.
If folks want to assume that a conservative (but non-R) like me is Trumper, no biggie. They'll find out real soon otherwise.....
....and the tribal "IF YOU'RE NOT COMPLETELY LIKE US, YOU'RE NO CONSERVATIVE !!!" from the mouth breathers on this thread will start in 3, 2, 1.......

That's not what happens if the government is subsidizing the pool. It's also not necessarily what happens when the pool grows in size.
Remember, the insurance companies liked Obamacare. They weren't taking a hit at all. They just got more customers.
I will try to attempt a true statement. I am a conservative by the way. Not a Trumpist. Here is my 100% true statement:
It was Barack Obama who lied to the American public and said, "If you like your health care plan, you can keep it."
It was 2013's "lie of the year," according to the fact checkers at the Tampa Bay Times' nonpartisan PolitiFact project.
Seems like it is the Liberals who love disemminating disinformation and lies.
"Not a Trumpist." Oh, the ABSURD continual denial......
A therapist MIGHT be able to help with this strange conviction of yours (and others).
....but I WILL agree that your second sentence about Obama was, or was more than close enough, to a lie. And senior Bush about taxes, perhaps. And Clinton about sex. And Bush junior about Iraq, perhaps. And a good handful of lesser crap from most every POTUS.
Regrettable and gross, but within American political "norms."
What amazes and incredibly disappoints me is that SO MANY freakin' fellow Americans can't understand the following:
1) SHEER MAGNITUDE. Trump's lying is NOTHING like the rest of them. NUH-THING. If your life depended on you listing more proven lies about any other president than I can write about Trump, you'd be SHI**** IN YOUR PANTS, because you'd know you'd be dead before it started. And yet you still pretend.
2) EVERYTHING ELSE ON TOP OF THE LIES. NONE of these other presidents would have handled COVID a fraction as bad. Or shook down Zelensky. OR TRIED TO STEAL AN ELECTION. Or mocked ALL POWs. Or shamelessly talked about grabbing women in the.... Or, or, or....
The contrast couldn't be greater, but you INSIST on pretending that it's STILL tit-for-tat semi-balanced politics. It's not. The Ds are more liberal than you want. Me, too. Fine. But the current Rs are reprehensible and indefensible and can't be trusted with leadership until they change.
How do all the Biden supporters feel about his new 'Disinformation Board'?
It's a horrific mistake. "Disinformation" has too much in common with "Information I don't agree with." Fact checking, in the age of spin, is a matter of opinion.
It also rests on a pretty obvious logical flaw: if "disinformation" is so powerful and such a threat to democracy, then why doesn't it fool who it makes look bad? The Democratic Party has a serious problem with the perception of elite control, and this isn't helping.

This is the new Biden administration head of Ministry of Truth, Nina Jankowicz. She is in charge of what’s truth and fiction in America. Every time you think the Biden administration can’t get more ridiculous, they do: pic.twitter.com/SKCaLafDzv

You are right about perception problem.
But without knowledge of what the board actually does, it's hard to make a fair criticism.
If all the board does is study the problem and make recommendations, the only ones against it would be those who use disinformation. Again, that's why Republicans are so nervous.

Oh please.
The Govt is the biggest purveyor of lies and disinformation.
The lady they put in charge attacked people for saying Hunter's laptop was real and not Russian disinfo.

I would argue that ANY government agency (outside of the justice system) that is given even the appearance of discerning what is true or not is a danger, even if it is given minimal authority to actually do anything. Why? Because it allows for an "authority" of some sort to spew propaganda while diminishing the value of the truth. Even if this were in some weird universe actually a department that dedicated itself to actually fighting what is indisputable misinformation, that danger of abuse would still exist.
The government has no place in determining what is mis- or dis- or mal-information, that is literally the job of journalists: to inform the public. When the government does it, depending on context that is either called propaganda or censorship.
I'm pretty sure all you guys that are either supportive or momentarily indifferent to this development be horrified if Trump was the one establishing this, and that should tell anyone all they need to know about how bad of an idea this is.

What is your obsession with Trump? I am seriously asking you this. Many of the people I hang around with and work with are conservative (though there are liberals too). NOT ONE of us could give a flying F*ck about Trump. Trump is never even mentioned. The conservatives of us really despise what Biden and Co. is doing to the country, i.e., ruining it. Not one of us has mentioned Trump since he was defeated in the election. But you, Agip, Fat Hurts, Ginamator and every one of you Liberals are so deranged with Trump that you bring him up in every fricking one of your posts. Enough. Please post why you like biden and why we should support him. No more Trump. You Libs don't bring him up and we conservatives won't bring him up. This will be a Trump-free zone. Those who need their Trump fix can always go shoot up on the Trump thread.
