Got back from my run, too. Hate this mid-December weather, but it can't last forever!
I think the term "American Carnage" is open to interpretation and if you hear it differently than I do, I'm fine with it.
My larger point about Truman was that it has become de riguer for Presidents to use the office to enrich themselves since he left office. I'll even grant you this: Trump has very well defined defects of personality. But...so do all Presidents. In 1987, Robert Altman was commissioned to a miniseries for HBO called "Tanner '88," about a fictional candidate for President. In one scene, a Tanner staffer turns to another and says "He's a raging narcissit!" The other staffer replies, "We are talking about someone who wants to be the leader of the free world. 'Well-adjusted' doesn't even enter into the picture."
Appreciate the civility. Perhaps we can move on to arguing over matters that are more imporrant, like the "American Song Contest." It looks like Massachussetts has it locked up, to me. Boo! I learned the term "M@sshole" way to late in life...
In 2021, Joe and Jill Biden had a combined income of $610,702, and only donated $17,000 to charity. Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff had a combined income of $1,655,563, and only donated $22,000. President Trump’s salary was $400,000 annually. He donated the full $1.6M to charity.
Stupid comment. People can donate what they want to.
1) While Trump famously donated his salary for 3.5 years of his Presidency (not the last half year), he didn't give it to charity. He gave it to other Federal agencies. Why? Wanted to look good in the eyes of fools like you but mainly to garner favor from those agencies.
2) Trump stated in 2016 that his net worth was over $10 billion dollars. We know that's bunk, but we should take him at his word, right? If he donated a MILLION dollars, that would be .0001 of his stated net worth (actually less, because I used $10 billion, and he said he was worth MORE than that). So, to crow about a multi-billionaire donating $400,000 is silly.
3) Trump cost the US taxpayers over $144,000,000 just to go golfing, when he said he wouldn't have time to do that. Not worth the salary give back there.
4) There is nothing Donald Trump ever did that was altruistic. He's a selfish, grifting, serial lying POS.
No, no, you just don't understand - if you listened to the Trumpers and read their magical "other sources" you'd realize that the SEEMINGLY blindingly obvious conclusion you came to in #4 - absent ANY media filter whatsoever - is ACTUALLY wrong. THEY know the truth. Trump is GOOD for America, and a moderate D is....basically Satan.
Highly resistant and repetitive stupidity. Wonderful.

In no universe is Biden a moderate. Being to the right of the Squad does not make you moderate...

Joe Manchin is an actual moderate.
Take a look at how leftists are treating him on Twitter these days.
Treating him like "basically Satan" would be more kind than the treatment your bussies are giving him.
There is no place for tolerance on the left. Intolerance is literally the bedrock of the Democratic party in 2022.
here's trump's wishywashiness over the years. But sure, as president he did not care very much one way or the other, to his credit I suppose. But when trump does this, you shrug. When biden does this you say he does not have a genuine bone in his body. You are a simple hack.
"I think the institution of marriage should be between a man and a woman," Trump said during the interview.
"I just don't feel good about it," Trump said. "I don't feel right about it. I'm against it, and I take a lot of heat because I come from New York. You know, for New York it's like, how can you be against gay marriage? But I'm opposed to gay marriage."
(trump) has said in interviews that he would have preferred the court leave the decision on same-sex marriage at the state level. Trump also suggested in at least one interview that he would consider appointing Supreme Court justices who would support reversing the ruling.
No, no. This MUST be wrong. Because it paints a very clear picture that Trump is horrendous.
BUT, adult repeatedly throws out the classic pseudo-intellectual wisdom that "things are REALLY in the middle" (and the basement geniuses are the only ones who can sort it out). So, we obviously have to squint at Trump HARDER, just in case he's not really horrendous.
Which Trump policies are "horrendous"? Non-morons don't value personality above substance. Trump has some abhorrent qualities. Biden comes across as a nice guy in his rare lucid moments. Biden's policies are idiotic and bad for the country. Trump's policies are moderate and good for the country.
TDS is particularly virulent amongst the low IQ folks.
Like usual, you were given a list of things - 7 in this case, but yes, it could go on all day. You neither refute nor defend any of it. Because you can't. And you pretend that it can all simply be summed up as mere "personal flaws."
This isn't about message board cuteness. A man can destroy a country. And you and the other Trumpers on this thread support that man.

Nothing on that list was a policy...
Biden is anti-energy anti-border and actively destroying the country. You're absolutely delusional. The country was WAY better off under Trump than it is today.

Stupid take, but let's put that aside. Go ahead and start defending the worst of the complaints about Trump. You know all of them. Go ahead, give it a try. Tell us why it's actually OK for a president to do the stuff in his Top 10. And remain the leader of his party.

Oh, I see, ONLY "policies" can be applauded or condemned. Nothing else. You think that Trump's policies are perhaps slightly more defensible than his words and actions, so you vainly try to constrain the conversation. Nice try.
About his actual policies, I don't give a sh**. Since he's clearly horrendous, many of them certainly sucked. At best, they were policies that any of the other R primary competitors (or random Rs plucked from anywhere) would have championed. You could have gotten those policies without the bloated orange lying, autocratic baggage. But to an actual adult, his policies were thoroughly outshone by the non-policy list of horrors that you can't defend. And don't even try.
But let's say that ALL of his formal policies were AWESOME. That wouldn't come CLOSE to compensating for his massive, massive shortcomings (which is WAY too kind a word), starting, of course, with the attempted theft of an election.
You're a cult follower. Get out. Grow up. Something.

It's an inescapably true take.
Gimme your top 10.
No games. You know for what Trump is most criticized. You read it daily here. Go ahead and start defending any of it.

Why do you not care about his policies? I feel like actions speak louder than words, and if so many of them were bad can you cite one that you feel was bad? I can easily cite a few for Joe Biden, the Afghanistan military withdrawal, immigration control, and relying on foreign energy. You said “But let's say that ALL of his formal policies were AWESOME. That wouldn't come CLOSE to compensating for his massive, massive shortcomings” How do you at all justify this? If his policies were all awesome, how could those not compensate for his shortcomings? We should elect presidents based on their skill, not how much they are able to charm us. You also said “You're a cult follower. Get out. Grow up. Something.” Why should he get out, he has as much a right to be here as you do and people can and should practice free speech, unlike what the big liberal tech companies want us to do.

geez this poster doesn't seem to understand that the president is the leader of the nation and not a legislator.
Weird, but yeah that's what he seems to be writing.
Dude, the president is the leader, the head of state, the guy in charge. He is not a legislator setting policy as he wishes. With a few exceptions.
The president's duties involve setting the tone, being not a criminal, setting an example for youth, etc. Ever heard of the bully pulpit? Presidents need to be measured against those intangibles as well as policy.

You're being smug while demonstrating that you have absolutely no idea what the president does... lol...
The president runs for election on an agenda.
You're probably confused because Biden is the first president in history to run on simply not being the other guy rather than having an agenda of his own.
It's not certain who the mysterious Bunny was, but White House deputy press secretary Angela Perez posted an image of the costume-clad person sitting at her desk on Monday morning.

Go back to what you're best at, polishing Biden's turds.
