I miss the *old* Joe Biden...
Hair on his head Joe Biden...
Not acting dead Joe Biden...
Rides on the train Joe Biden...
Not fixing shame Joe Biden...
Might tell a lie Joe Biden...
But tons won't die Joe Biden...
Ah...that's all I got
For the headscratchers...Joe Biden was, for a brief time, the frontrunner in the 1988 Presidential election. Then he gave a speech where he neglected to cite a quote from a British labor leader. That was instantly labeled "plagiarism," and his candidacy was sunk. Quite an accomplishment before the 24 hour news cycle!
See, there are two Joe Bidens: one is a dedicated career politican who knew how to work the levers in Washington, the other got close enough to greatness that people unironically think of his as the second coming of the top of the 2008 and 2012 ticket. He got sucked into a the vacuum created by the bleeding edge of the left, and I don't think the role suits him well. He'll almost certainly end up a one-termer at this point, unless we prosecute and win WWIII. No thanks.
p.s. The only apparent similarity between old and new Biden is his penchant for four or more campaign slogans. Here are some from 1988: "Pepsi Generation", "Voice of optimism", "Save the children", and "Scold the voters." How many slogans did Trump have again? Is it possible that a future Dem candidate will use "We need a Dance Dance Revolution." as a campaign slogan? Stay tuned and find out!
