8.54% even. You missed an opportunity there to tell the truth and actually have it be a little worse than you said.
Any comment from me is not going to be a solution. Not sure what kind of power you think I have, but I have no power to affect the rate of inflation. I think I see your issue now (well, one of your many issues I hadn't considered).
The inflation we have now is due to supply chain issues (caused by the pandemic) and pent up demand for goods and services (caused by the pandemic), and it is not limited to the United States nor caused by any policies of the Biden Administration or even the previous POS Administration. Europe also has very high inflation right now, caused by the aforementioned reasons.
Just as a potential and necessary personal growth thing for you, when you look in the mirror each morning, you should ask yourself why it is you support going down the road to dictatorship, because that is clearly what the Trumpism part of the GOP (ever shrinking every day BTW) is all about. Seems really odd coming from a group of people who love to chant "freedom!" any chance they get.
If you were so interested in truth you wouldn't continually lie about the cause of the inflation. Printing TRILLIONS of dollars caused the inflation.
If the scary orange man was a dictator he would still be in office and he certainly wouldn't have attempted a "coup" with 30 unarmed morons.
You have no idea what a dictatorship is.
Printing money is part of the cause, but not all of it. Without the huge demand and lack of supply, there would be no inflation. Inflation is "too many dollars chasing too few goods". You need both to get inflation.
Trump was a dictator-wannabe. The only reason he is not ruling as an autocrat today is because his coup was not successful. The reason he was not successful is because he's not a very good leader.
1) You are wrong about the cause of the inflation. Easy to see too, because similar inflation is across Europe. Caused by the pandemic.
2) That orange POS tried his best to overturn a free and fair election, and so far at least one federal judge has said he likely committed crimes against the US in so doing, and the Jan. 6 Committee has determined the same. You support that behavior. You believe the Big Lie which has no basis in fact. Of the two major parties in the US (GOP and Democratic), only the Democratic Party supports freedom. During Trump's term in office, he mentioned what Xi Jinping did in China (just decided he'd be in power forever), and he suggested we should do that here, to the cheers of his moron rally goers.
3) You have no idea about anything and are no authority to tell me anything about anything.
Spending money like it was going out of style paying people to stay home occurred all over the globe. Only a complete moron would think the US can just print TRILLIONS of dollars with no impact on inflation.
You were born dumb and you'll die dumb. I don't have any delusions about you being cured of your mental deficiency by anything I say. You're a cultist.
I didn't say it had NO impact on inflation. It is not the cause of the high inflation we have...not even close. The cause is the pandemic which affected the supply chain and caused pent-up demand for goods and services. Also, you are disingenuous in talking of printing "trillions" of dollars. For one thing, the indirect total here is $1.7-$1.9 trillion, so not "trillions" there. To get to "trillions", you have to include the money that was spent on vaccines, unemployment, schools, healthcare, and landlord relief. All of that was absolutely necessary to keep our economy from imploding, and even that orange POS was on board with most of that.
Dude, you are projecting with the cultist comment. Trumpism is a cult, and you are clearly in its grasp.
If you were so interested in truth you wouldn't continually lie about the cause of the inflation. Printing TRILLIONS of dollars caused the inflation.

Similar inflation is NOT happening in developed countries around the world.
The inflation we have now is due to supply chain issues caused by the pandemic and pent-up demand for goods and services caused by the pandemic. Europe has climbing inflation too that is [GASP!] not caused by Biden Administration policies.
Hey look! Flagpole copied his response from Forbes Advisor! He pretends to act like he is intelligent when instead he is just copying his response from someone else.
Flagpole: "The elevated inflation we have now is due to supply chain issues caused by the pandemic and pent-up demand for goods and services caused by the pandemic."
Forbes Advisor: "Elevated inflation has been driven by supply chain disruptions and pent-up consumer demand for goods following the reopening of the economy in 2021."
Those quotes are similar, but I don't think they are the same. Flagpole gets the benefit of the doubt on that one.
But you plagiarize word for word quite often and I've called you out on it several times.

All of that is CORRECT!
Some things:
1) The "printing money" is such a small part of the inflation issue and extremely temporary and shallow. You are correct that without the huge demand we have now (pent-up demand caused by the pandemic) there would not be an inflation issue.
2) Trump absolutely attempted a coup. The "Green Bay Sweep" that they had in place absolutely was a coup attempt. I can't even imagine what would have happened had Trump had a VP who would have gone along with his lawless request of him. Had he been successful, we would be under dictatorship rule right now. The threat isn't over either as he has been putting sycophants in place (not as successfully as he wishes) all over the country so that his coup attempt could be tried again. He's a criminal. He and window lickers like TAITR a major threat to our Democratic Republic.
Flagpole has insisted that supply chain issues and pent-up demand for goods caused by the pandemic are causing the historically high (8.5%) inflation rates. But, Trump had the same issues do deal with and when he left office inflation was at 2%. Since Biden became president the inflation has gone up by close to 7%. Let me repeat -- When Biden became president the inflation was at 2% and since his tenure inflation has GONE UP around 7%. So it is obvious that his wasteful spending (the deficit last year was $2.8 trillion)) is the main culprit for record inflation.

Nice try, but nope! As if I would look to Forbes for anything. They DO appear to be correct here though.
Meh. The inflation is caused by supply chain issues and pent-up demand caused by the pandemic. The opinion of a guy who supports Target Date Funds and has a show for Baby Boomers doesn't impress me. Similar inflation now is occurring in first world countries across the globe. You're wrong.
Hey Flagpole, you passed this off as your own statement. You're a liar. Admit it.

You may want to check the GDP growth for Q4 2020 vs now.

When Biden became president, the pandemic was still raging strong. Then we rolled out vaccines, delta ran its course, and we got covid more under control. That spurred demand at a time when supply chain was really tight. That's how inflation got to where we are now.

Um...NO. When Trump left office, people were still staying at home, very concerned about their jobs and not spending. That was the time that created the pent-up demand (and pent-up demand is the main reason for the high inflation). Methinks you don't know what pent-up demand means. I'll try to educate you. Sine Biden has been in office, the pandemic has basically ended. Obviously we still have some issues with the virus, but a combination of the anti-vaccine people dying, vaccines in arms, and less lethal variants have led to a reopening of the economy and businesses. Because of this and the subsequent falling like a rock of the unemployment rate, people have started to spend money on things that they didn't during the height of the pandemic (again, still happening when Trump's coup failed). This has led to bidding wars in the housing market, and supply chain issues have led to fewer items in certain areas (cars for example), so people have been paying premium prices for cars (myself included as I paid very close to MSRP for the first time ever for a new car in fall 2022).

CORRECT! You said so more succinctly than I did. Amazing that this had to be spelled out to Sally. I guess his level of ignorance though is par for the course.

How did we get Covid under more control? We didn't even have the vaccines until late 2020 and Trump handed Biden the vaccines. Even with the vaccines handed to him, more people died in 2021 then in 2020. Biden managed to f8ck that up as he does everything. Inflation has skyrocketed since Biden took office and the American voters know damn well that that is the truth.
Liar, you copied and pasted w/o attribution. Admit it.
He definitely didn't copy and paste. The wording is very different.
CORRECT! Obviously it wasn't copied and pasted. Everyone and their brother has talked about the pent-up demand for goods and services and the supply chain issues as the major causes of the inflation we have. Not a novel idea for Forbes or for me, but certainly not copied by me from any source either. Not how I roll.

According to Worldometer:
7-day average deaths on 1/21/2021: 16,922
7-day average deaths on 4/11/2022: 3,210
We got covid more under control.
I said there were more Covid deaths in 2021 than in 2020. Is that not true?

Now THAT is a fair question. A question from an ignorant question-asker, but this is how ignorant people CAN learn.
1) Biden is the lucky beneficiary of the timing of vaccines being available (also coming in during a recession...a situation that can only get better...and it has gotten better), a bunch of moron anti-vaxxers dying, and less lethal variants. To be fair to Biden though, he DID prioritize getting shots into arms, so he DOES actually get credit for that.
2) Inflation HAS gone up since Biden took office. Has nothing to do with his policies. It's all pandemic-caused (which again led to supply chain issues and pent-up consumer demand). Consumers feel comfortable spending money because their jobs are pretty solid today with more out there on the job tree if they lose the one they have. So, as a result, people will buy what they want with next to no caring about the cost. This is why a house in my neighborhood just sold for $80,000+ over asking price, and asking price was what the estimated value was.
3) What you say about voters is CORRECT! Voters as a group always blame the current administration and their policies for anything bad. This is because voters as a group are morons and don't understand cause and effect (as you don't).
