I know that the Tully Ratings aren't foolproof equalizing numbers, but when Milesplit put out the merged regional ratings for the D1 boys, I decided to lump them all together and score it as one huge meet. I had to make some decisions, taking out individuals along the way. I included team placers at the Troy region though Walnut Hills (10th there), at Tiffin through Sylvania Northview (6th), at Pickerington through Thomas Worthington (13th), and at Youngstown through St. Ignacious (12th). The results obviously mean nothing, but it was a fun exercise and something interesting to look at as we head into tomorrow.
It took me forever. I noticed that the Tiffin region seems to be weighted higher. TSF, winner of that region, was thumped by Central Ohio teams anytime they raced (see Olen. Berlin, Tiffin, etc), as was Perrysburg and Wayne. They placed relatively high overall. The Youngstown region teams probably were underrated. I have a hard time thinking of the 2nd place team there being "bad", but Rocky River and several teams below them got their butts handed to them by Kilbourne at the preseason meet, and it wasn't close at all. The Pickerington region was, as expected, incredibly strong. Maybe the Tully Ratings are especially kind to that course? Hard to say. But Jerome and Kilbourne, who finished 8th and 11th in my virtual meet, won't even be in the race tomorrow. Just goes to show how strong that regional was.
It was also interesting to see how teams like Springboro and Lancaster fell in the combined meet significantly relative to other teams in their region. I think these teams big gaps between 1 and 2 were the culprit. Again... interesting.

Can you imagine a meet of this magnitude? I'm curious to see how the order of the bolded (qualifying) teams matches tomorrow's results.
