US team likely gonna have some new guys too, Gay and Gatlin are getting up there in age.
Replacing Gay may well end up being addition by subtraction. There's a vortex of mediocrity and error around him so often when he lines up for a relay.

Whomever allowed Bromell to run is an imbecile. Are they TRYING to see how big of an injury they can give him? He's already got a big Achilles problem. And, he's nowhere close to his best anyway. Would have been better served throwing Merritt or someone else in the relay.
Welcome to the 4077th MASH 4X100 relay team:
--Gatlin has had an injured ankle most of the year. He can't push on it at top speed: That's why he didn't even make the final in the 200. His ankle's probably worse than Felix's now.
--Bromell will have surgery on his injured achilles when he gets home.
--Gay is a shadow of his former self.
The USA men's 4X1 was held together with toothpicks and rubber bands. Hard to believe they actually beat Canada. Maybe they would have been better off throwing Felix & Bowie on the relay.
Kenyan national anthem isn't very inspiring.
Last Handoff?
Deeeeeeeeeee
Cuuuuuuuuuuue
They're saying it was the first handoff? Ummm what?
Nice to see the guys get educated after the race, get a solid workout in and then some studying
I'm sure if the IOC or IAAF keeps stats on this but my guess is this Olympic track meet has set the record for most DQs and advanced by fall than any other.
How is Oregon doing in the team scoring? I'm not getting the usual updates.
Yohan Blake is such a sidekick. Always riding on Usain's coat tails.
First exchange for the USA was before the exchange zone. Nice job, you buffons. You got 20m, that is plenty of space.
Interesting - Canada gets DQ'd out of a bronze medal in London 2012, but gets the bronze medal in 2016 because the US got DQ'd (to coin a phrase, DQ'd into a medal).
Definitely agree that this meet seems DQ happy.
Along with the reinstatements, for me it's actually taking away from the enjoyment of races more than any doping talk.
Not sure what the overall thoughts are around here on this but I think getting a DQ after one false start is insane and takes away from having the top competitors race against each other, it is about who the best is at the distance, not best out of the blocks. I think it should be a DQ on your second false start.
Bolt with both Jamaican and Brazilian flags is pretty cool. Easy to see why he is so loved.
Looking at the replay it really looks like the baton didn't touch his hand until past the line.

Well, we can't complain that the officials don't know their rules. At least they are doing their job.

Then there would be 8 false starts every race. Ain't no one got time for that
Viv C is a cute little rascal. No one ever mentions this.
