Williams are peaking for late November. If anything, that means Amherst might be able to grab the coveted Little Three title.

Lol Amherst looked terrible today

Hussein ran 24:46 for 5th today. Not shabby, especially for Franklin Park. He did, however, run 24:29 for 2nd place last year. Was it a slow day? Is he in worse shape than last year?

Think about it: the wreaths, the 10k cash prize, the orgy. The spoils of war have become all but a distant memory for the Jeffs. For three decades, they have forgotten what was truly on the line at Little Three's.

This year is different. The Wet Blankets understand that they can't go all out the weekend before their most important trial, their shining moment.

This year, Amherst will take what is rightfully theirs.

I thought Amherst looked OK, not "terrible." 1-4 were fine, they need a better 5. They would have that if S. Nelson would have been in the Varsity 8k. I'm guessing Connors was just tempo-ing in the JV race...

It seems as though the quality of all new England's has declined significantly over the years. Could Williams have won at Franklin Park, would have been the first DIII winner in a while I imagine? They beat MIT by 10 seconds a man at Purple Valley and Northeastern only beat MIT by 8 a man.

I agree 100%. And Williams probably could have won.

But until they change the D1 qualifying process, teams will forgo "minor" meets to attempt to further their standing nationally by beating ranked opponents. You can't really blame them. However, it is still a great opportunity for these better teams to let JV guys run against solid D3, D2 and D1 competition.

I still think its a good meet overall (participation is still high). I just don't like the fact that good XC has all but left New England.

The best close meet is probably Paul Short, and even that pales in comparison to most West Coast (Stanford, Washington, etc.) or Midwestern meets (Griak, Wisco, etc.).

I dare anyone to beat the accuracy of this.
