What's the time on the clock?
These Universal Sports commentators aren't even in Paris, are they? I think they're in a studio in California.
with his 150mpw marathon base, he can return to track and

Bekele looks to be 5-10s up on Tola, who is maybe 10s up on the three chasers
So 2:04:40 pace. Gonna need to roll if he wants sub 2:04

Why didn't Bekele choose Rotterdam for example for his first attempt? He could have run WR in his first attempt.
More money upfront.
I'm so excited. The king is back!!!
KB is really moving. Tola definitely also slowed down at the same time. The chase pack is pulling in Tola but KB is increasing his lead quickly. KB is showing the strain, though. He is clearly pushing very very hard.

Dude still has 10k to go...the real race is only just beginning.
Nostalgia
Looks like Kenny is saying a big fat f*** you to the London organizers.
10k to go, the eurosport feed, annoyingly, doesn't display a running clock. Bekele well away and is cruising, but it would be amazing if he finds another gear.
Needs 29:0x 10k to break 2:04.
14:39 on that last 5k split.
He just reached mile 20 with a HUGE gap on second place.
Will he hit the wall?
Or hang on for glory?
east africans have advantage because of thin limbs good at having surface area dissipating heat.... what the heck are the announcers talking about??
Yes it is. But Bekele really wants to win, I don't think he would go gap the leaders unless he was comfortable.LM wrote:

Oh I agree, but the wheels can come off quickly in the marathon as we've seen in cases like E. Mutai at London two years ago who has a multi minute lead with 2k to go and lost by like a minute
KB may be signalling to his team that he has an injury??
Bekele hurt?
uh oh, he;s gabbing hi left hamstring.
