Great job by everybody! (Well, almost everybody.) I love reading about the alternative training methods some of you are using. :)
We took a day off yesterday just as a precautionary measure. I'm still feeling good and ready for more. Coach said we'd give things a bit of a nudge today. (I think she was talking about my workout. wink, wink, nudge, nudge) I'll report back later this PM.
Keep up the good work!
I went on a mountain run in the rain then got a spanking from my coach for not stretching afterwards.

Hey, I didn't stretch either! Can I get a spanking too?
66' out and back; 35 out, 31 back
From Karen, or her coach?
A mile today, pressed for time, just to get something in.

You would love one from me! You wouldn't like one from my coach, he uses a block of wood.
Big Blonde Karen: Promises, promises. LOL.
Today's run was disrupted by stomach distress (careful with those BUFFALO CHICKEN WING SANDWICHES) and stopping to clear off the roads: lots of pieces of trees and branches down from last night's rain. 30:00 total.
Good stuff, all! This thread rocks!
I did get on the track yesterday. Coach had me do a ladder: 1200, 1K, 800, 600, 400, 600, 800, 1K, 1200. The goal was to do the longer ones at about 3K pace and continually drop down as the length went down. The shorter ones were done at about 800-1K pace. Tough, but satisfying.
Coach was very accomodating afterward. I got a good massage, etc. She really helps me relax.
Keep up the good work, all!

1. How fast, Mr 8x800 av 2:03?
2. What are u trainin' for?
3. How many handles do you use on this thread?
Today, children track day.Tomorrow: likely will pace a hefty (weighs 96Kgs) friend of mine on a half-marathon training run. It's going to be cold...BTW, just what do you mean by "accomodating?"

He seems fine. It is, I am 'told', a Gall bladder issue.
(I didn't know dogs had gall bladders.) Some blood test during his annual check up showed some oddball high scores 2-3 months ago. His scores have been dropping back toward normal levels on their own, but they were trying to talk me into a ~$500+ ULTRASOUND on him.
Ouch.
I changed his food and have been walking him since the weather got cooler. He seems as annoyingly peppy and nosy as ever... he's a ten year old West Highland Terrier.
I am getting another blood test for him next month. That gives me a chance to get some more money in the bank before they try to sick this ULTRASOUND thing on me again.
Umm,it's amazing how much ones' pets can cost us. Of course it's a matter of how much you love your cat or dog. I'm looking after my 14 1/2 yr. old male tabby, Morris. (like the one in the commercial). His kidneys are nt functioning too well, got him on medication, changing hs diet, weekly vet visits to keep him hydrated with saline IV's.
Anyhow, my running:
Yesterday off.
Today, for 31:18, including 8 pick ups 1:30 - 1:45, same recovery jogs. AHR (for w-out) 132. MHR 158.

Running Dogg has been boring us for weeks on end with his hints at "naughtiness" with his female coach. What kind of person needs to post that nearly every time, I ask you.

Meanwhile, back on the track.....
20' w/u, 5 x 1M @ 102% vVO2max, 30' c/d....stretch....massage (it happened again! any of you males with female coaches ever encounter a situation like this? I could use some advice, though I'm not sure I want it to stop.)
Exhibit A.
I do this in order to try and expose Running Dogg for the fraud that he is. When he posted about 8x800m in 2:03 in part 1, there was genuine interest from some young, gullible readers. I feel it is my duty to label a fraud a fraud when I see one.
Look in the mirror.
Have a nice day.
That's what I thought! :)

Hmmm....posted a mere 9 minutes after "Not A Liar's" post suggesting Running Dogg uses different names on this thread. Another case of the Skuj troll needing a mirror. Nice try, Andrew!
today: escorting a hefty buddy, 94Kg (down from 106) Latina half marathon, 1h37mins. He was ecstatic. Didn't think he could go lower than 1:45...Barefoot on ideal-temp and dry asphalt. Concentrated on gait fluidity. Particularly defined sub-foot "grit stain" with highest impact point nice and clear on otherwise totally black foot.PS. ah! Running Dogg falling victim to using SEX as a motivational (to post, evidently) tool? Hah...

76' hilly run today with great weather and views.

I want to go on record as not being bored by those posts. I like a little excitement on the thread. Keep reporting, Running Dogg!
