Is it me or does 30:40 seem really strong for the Olympic standard? The Olympics is supposed to be inclusive, yet there are less than a half dozen nations who routinely produce athletes capable of running that fast. On second thought, I guess the same can be said for 11.07 100m.

The field is the smallest out of any event at the Olympics, other than the multi-events, so less people are meant to reach the standard. Plus, World Athletics are trying to push the standards so half qualify via World Rankings and half by World Standards. That's why it's one of the hardest standard.

Congratulations to the winner of the contest: Heard it here firstt, with the correct time of 30:50 submitted on 04/10/2024 5:47pm EDT.
The below links are your official award prizes for an astute prognostication of Parker's 10K NCAA collegiate record.
With the outdoor track season just beginning we can Expect More Great Things from Parker and of course more prediction contests. Likely, there will be many more competition participants as Valbymania continues to spread throughout the land.

It's a very hard standard because there aren't any semis in the 10k to eliminate runners, and they don't want the number of runners in the final to be huge.
Hey,
“Winner of contest will receive a link to Parker's favorite Kombucha,”
So which is it?
The judges of the contest have been in contact with representatives of Parker to ascertain her favorite commercially made kombucha. Because of a feverish bidding battle amongst the leading kombucha brewers, who are attempting to secure an endorsement deal for their brand, any preferences stated at this time may undercut and jeopardize a highly lucrative contract for our rising star. Stay tuned for this future important fizzy and probiotic announcement.
There's no sudden ability. There's been a gradual ramp-up as she has gotten healthier and stronger from showing incredible talent already at a middling program as a junior in high school, when she ran a 10:10 2M at a program that usually has 20-22 type and slower 5k xc runners on the girls' side. She challenged for the lead early and then fell down and finished in the 20s in NCAA xc in Tallahassee. The following year she was setting course records in xc and led all the way until about 9.2k when Tuohy blew by her like she was nothing in Stillwater. She was injured indoors yet again but came back gimpy to qualify for NCAA 5000m behind Tuohy and then the latter dropped and she limped a little less through a 15:30 NCAA championship in the 5000m in the heat of June in Austin, Texas. Healthy finally she destroyed course records all the way through nationals last fall in xc, beating Tuohy soundly at Nuttycombe and Nationals. Who knew we would see 18s in women's xc? The cross training is on display in these runs from the ability to run solo. But even the levels she's achieved indoors are not special on the world level. 30:50 is nearly 2 minutes off the world record, more than 2 minutes off the world road record. 14:52 is 52 seconds off the world record. These are great college times, nothing more. The American record in the 5000m is 14:19. Let's get a sense of perspective. There's no reason at all to raise doping as an issue.
Right on schedule. Time will tell. Usually does.

But I already know the answer, I think. Now whether she is getting paid to promote the brand, I don’t know. In one of her Instagram posts, she was holding up a bottle of Synergy, the more pricey stuff.
If you would’ve read the fine print for the contest rules it clearly states under section 9A, paragraph 4, the following: Any quibbling, whining, or disparaging remarks aimed at the contest organizers, Parker Valby, or the makers of fermented pro-biotic beverages shall disqualify the entrant from any recognition or acknowledgement in prizes or virtual applause.
The way you write........You seem like such a winner.
.........When was the last time you got laid?
.........Are you married?
.........Do you have kids?
And, do you identify with the alt-right?
(examples, your hardcore religious beliefs, your whole "pure hate" thing, calling people Communists for not finding you funny, ultra patriotism, misogyny, etc etc etc)?
You should focus your attention on important matters in life, not wondering about sordid details of strangers on the interweb. Try to focus on improving your own self, which would mostly include running.
I would crush you any day big boy.
You talk all day on this board, that's it. You post about girl's tans (sordid eh?), "pure hate" (racist much?), you're against gays, you trend alt-right. Seems like A) you're lonely and need attention B) single, incelibate, child-less C) creepy
Post your PRs....or you're just a soft keyboard warrior, bra
