Yeah Gebreslase's team was pretty confident ahead of Nagoya so maybe that understanding was just top 3 in any spring marathon rather than Nagoya specifically. It's also worth noting that her case for inclusion is much stronger than any of the men with the same coach/management.
With regards to her being from Tigray, that I think seems to have been a bit less of a factor in previous years as Tigrayan women are increasingly dominating Ethiopian athletics (Tsegay, Gidey, Haylom, Meshesha, both Hailus, and maybe some more, it can be hard to figure out in English media).
Honestly, I also think that it could be difficult to justify Kebebe over either Alemu or Gebreslase. She only has 1 marathon whereas the others both have multiple podiums this cycle to justify their selection.
