Depends which hemisphere you come from, or perhaps equatorial. If you were born in Siberia Russia or Antarctica, 60s is pretty hot for you. But if you were from Thailand or Cancun Mexico, then maybe 80s isn't such a bad thing. I sincerely believe El G would prefer 70s or 80s over 60s

I think you had to ask El Guerrouj to know this for sure -because heat resistance is also individual: Jakob has for instance very good tolerance, contrary to f.ex fellow country man Nordås who suffers a lot (in the 5k). And Gidey and Kejelcha clearly underperform in hot conditions (more than average) -even Bekele had a “heat stroke” in one of his World’s xc’s, and lost the gold despite leading substantially…
You left out that he also has to hold the records for the distance. Since he has neither the golds that El G had or his records he cannot yet be the GOAT or even "great". Thanks for conceding that. So far none of these things are achievements; they are only your fantasies and those of his fans.
Of course he is already "great". There are no Oly gold winners and top 3 PB of all time in their event that aren't "great". However the point is since he's 90% going to win two golds next year he will be GOAT. No questions.
He was "90%" going to win the world championships 1500m, too. But "the next guy" keeps beating him. Just like could well happen in Paris.
Impossible for both Jakob and El G to have doped. I understand the meaning and implication of the word 'suspicion' and 'suspicious' as I'm English educated but I'm still unable to holistically find the reserve in me to 'suspect' so, so pardon me. Maybe it's because I'm a good psychoanalyst and understand the laws of human behavior and physics very well. I'm in no way unaware that these athletes were competing in an era or environment full of dopers and doping so my opinion does not stem from ignorance.
It stems from denial - just like it did with Lance Armstrong fans.

Jakob is not the greatest md runner of all time and may never be. He holds no world records at a championship distance - not the 1500/mile, 5k/10k. He may never. He has yet to win a world championship title over his specialty distance. He may never. All these feats have been accomplished by the great md runners before him - and latterly El G.
Jakob is the slowest amongst the great 1500/milers in over half a century. All were faster than him over 800m. Not only does that limit him it also indicates that he is probably the most doped miler in the history of the sport, in order to acquire the endurance he has.

Are you ok? Long time since you have been outside of your house, even for a short walk? How long is it since you've met and spoken to someone?
I could ask that of an obsessive Jakob fan.
Well I'm pretty fine, I'm a bit stressed about work and in addition I have done some work on my house lately which have added on to it. Being tired from that makes it hard not to react to what I see as obsessive and unreasonable hate. Thankfully I have reached some milestones with the house, and hope to do the same on my day job which might lower my stress and help me just overlook stuff like that.
What about you? One thing is to be an obsessive fan (that is not a new thing in sports), but I think being an obsessive hater is something else. While I enjoy following Jakobs career, and most probably should spend less time discussing him in here, it is something that gives me a lot of inspiration and motivation as well as entertaining and thrilling moments. While I felt down when he was beaten by Kerr, that feeling kind of went away the same evening which was a sign for me that I am at a pretty healthy level. (Kerr was in great shape when he needed to, Ingebrigtsen was not.) What I mean to say is that I feel that is giving me a net positive in life. I cannot imagine that it would bring me a net positive in life if I dedicated so much time to hate individual athletes.
Over time I think it is such an accelerating force as well, as I would believe one would judge everything the athletes say in the worst way possible (Ingebrigtsen saying he felt a bit ill but that it shouldn't be an excuse for the loss is turned around to him blaming everything on a sickness that must be a lie for example, another one is Ingebrigtsen saying the 2000m record was the easiest record for him to take, the lowest hanging fruit, - which most seem to agree - yet its turned around to him being cocky) and having complete unreasonable standards. Like Ingebrigtsen being a serial looser as he only have two WC silvers in the 1500. Like it or not, this is a guy that has two WC silvers in the 1500, one olympic gold in the 1500 and two wc golds in the 5000, at 22. Who knows, he can be injured tomorrow, but he is pretty good, and those results speaks for themselves.
The outcome of this seems to me to just be a downward spiral of hate. I can't imagine that is worth following along to, there are so many other athletes, other disciplines or even other sports to follow where it is possible to gain joy instead of hate. Dont misunderstand me, a bit of "hate" is just natural in sports. I don't like it when some americans in here always prop up their runners to be medal contenders as I think its not beneficial for the runners and disrespectful for others, but on the other hand I have to be reasonable and acknowledge some of the great athletes such as Fisher and Nuguse. That balance - seeing more than black and white, while also being able to focus on something else than just "hating" makes it turn from something possibly unhealthy to normal.
Being obsessed with almost exclusively bad talking and hating on an athlete doesn't seem that beneficial.

El G won Athens in almost the same or worst heat than Budapest, tokyo, eugene. Do you know how hot it was in Athens when El G won the 1500m and 5000m together? There is a small caveat though, El G may have benefitted inadvertently to some small or large degree from asthma drug advair which he had a TUE for. This will forever taint my knowledge of his double gold medals in Athens.
But then El G won in Seville 99 in 3:27:65 which was also super hot and humid but lost in Sydney 2000 in cooler 60s-70s temps to Noah Ngeny. It was also definitely hot in Atlanta in 96, and hot in Athens 97 where he also won the 1500m.
Taken as a whole, El G seems to win all the hot and humid championships but lose the cooler ones? It's of course only 1 angle to look at things and there are many other angles.

I agree with everything except the part of his doping. I don't think Jakob dopes and his body language and behavior does not tend to suggest it. And his performances are pretty gradual and consistent as well, nothing overnight or too fast and furious improvement. The lack of a WR at championship distance is very debilitating for his reputation and Faith Kipyegon's WRs are all championship distances but doesn't seem to be celebrated as much as Jakob. It could be due to Faith's humble personality and humble character. Jakob is also quite humble but he has that hint of bad boy what with pierced ear rings, tattoos all over his body. Tattoos and piercings give people the idea that you are a 'bad' person like some hooligan or gangster although it may not necessarily always be the case but it does convey that idea at first glance.
Did El G (Muslim) and Faith Kipyegon (Christian) ever got a tattoo or piercing, I don't think so as their religion forbids it. God says the body is a temple of the Holy Spirit and one should not defile it with external images or ornaments that don't make gender sense! Ear piercings and rings are only for the female gender and Jakob is a male! Tattoos are prohibited for both genders. I myself tend to not socialize or mix around with men/women with tattoos, and men with ear rings, it's just weird.
Imagine what would Jakob run without ear rings and tattoos? He might just well have taken the 1500m and mile WR already albeit with supershoes, wavelights and doped track surfaces.......

Also add that his olympic 1500 race was paced. He got the gold, but with each WC it's looking like it was a fluke, a matter of the stars aligning for him. He won't have a pacer in Paris.

You need to learn the trade and skill of psychoanalysis. You need to read human beings better, both non-verbal and verbal and employ a holistic approach too. I for one look at Jakob's trainer Gjert Ingebrigsten and am totally impressed with his spanking clean sport morals. Like in the way he lambasted Jakob for bringing home a girl (Elizabeth) for overnight stays whom he isn't married to yet in his teens. If a father/trainer can be furious at such moral failing, he is likely to impose stricter rules for doping and disallow or disavow it vehemently.
Due to Gjert's strong moral foundation, coupled with his strong fatherly oversight over Jakob all throughout his teens and early twenties, it is unlikely (very low probability) Gjert would give drugs to Jakob nor would Jakob deviate from his father's righteous commandments and go find drugs to consume for fear of repercussions. This strong foundation is likely to accompany Jakob the rest of his career which means his good upbringing in terms of antidoping issues would forestall any temptation to dope in his twenties and/or thirties till end of career.

To be clear, Jakob is the best middle distance runner since El G, but he’s not the GOAT until he a) has the WR in the mile; b) has the WR in the 1500; and c) wins a WC. Until then El G is the GOAT and anyone that says differently is a misguided Jakob fanboy with no understanding of history.

I admire Ingebrigtsen as much as I admired Armstrong. But then, it is apparent, so do you.

Those who need to learn the trade of psychoanalysis, such as you, do so because you can't actually read people without the aid of a textbook. You're a fan-boy with a few more fancy words for it.

With Ingebrigtsen and Kipyegon you simply see what you want to see. What you don't want to see - and leaps out with their performances - is they are both absolutely juiced to the gills. There is no way they can do what they do without it.
