Initially, this thread was entitled "UCLA track coach, Sean Brosnan, Fired for NCAA violations" but we changed it as Brosnan told us he was simply not renewed for next year.
Or when he was recruiting Shannon Rowbury she stuck at her hand to shake his and he stuck out his hand not to shake hers but to show her his championship rings.
It’s also not exactly a secret in Southern California that Sean/NP used questionable at best recruitment tactics to bring in transfers and kids from other schools in the district. Guess what nobody gave a crap because it’s HS but now you’re in the NCAA and people are professionals who aren’t gonna let you flagrantly cheat. Sorry bud, deal with it.
Literally 1000s of kids and programs navigate the transfer portal without breaking the rules. It’s not that hard.
I’ve been posting about these impending significant violations that would likely force him out for a half year now, and the BroJos have been deleting all of my comments no matter how factual and well known it was. I expect an apology.
What is the apology supposed to be for? I don’t get it…
For censoring information for no reason. This site is supposed to be about interesting topics in the running community. I heard about this way back at the coaching convention, it’s all anyone was talking about. And he only doubled down on the stuff he was doing in the ensuing months. Everybody in D1 has known about this and assumed this would be the likely result for quite a while now, but any time anybody would ever post even a whisper about it, the BroJos would delete the posts. Yet they’ve never had a problem with throwing other coaches and athletes and prominent figures under the bus with completely unfounded accusations and criticisms. So yeah, I’d like an explanation at the very least as to why it was constantly deleted/censored all these months. They suppressed the truth for half a year, let more kids get scammed into committing to UCLA to run for that clown, and now it’s a disaster with athletes set to start practices there in the next week or two despite no longer having a coach…
Calling Brosnan a “three-time national champion coach for Newbury Park High School” is flat out wrong and lazy writing. They write that he coached the team to National titles in 2019, 2021, and 2022 and led Aaron Sahlman to the title, even after they mentioned he took the UCLA job in 2022. So how could he also coach Newbury Park in 2022??
You can have two different jobs in the same year because there are these things called ‘months’ and some of them occur before others. It’s a wild concept.

The won the HS cross country NSAF National Championship in Indiana in 2020.
Is it really standard in the profession to only have one year contracts?
No/maybe… there are lots of coaches that are not on one year contracts and the majority of those on one year contracts get rehired… unless you do things to make your bosses’ jobs harder or ruin the student-athlete experience.

He was writing the trainings for the team in 2022, so that they could win NXN
Vin lananna initiated the investigation. That’s 100% true. Why couldn’t he just let her move on? Why did he have to be a Karen? He failed his investigation.
i would not be surprised by this in the slightest. Years ago I wanted to run for Vin as I had several friends who were running for him. I had a transcript issue, one that Vin was (unfortunately) aware of. After taking care of it and cleaning it up to the point where I would be eligible, I let Vin know that I would be running for a rival school and wished him the best. He let me know that the moment I stepped into their uniform, he'd blow the whistle as fast as he could and use the old transcript as evidence (rather than, say, letting a kid have a chance at a free college education).
The way he said it, to my face, was one of the more repugnant conversations I've ever had with a human being. Combined with the way I've personally witnessed him treating his own athletes (like sh**) at stanford, this sort of behavior from Vin is zero surprise, and something I wish I could have warned SB about. A shame but I'm sure SB will land somewhere and will be just fine in life. Most importantly, he won't have to walk through life knowing he's a pompous piece of sh** (as Vin does/should).
Robert, I'm pretty sure I've told you this story before, but happy to tell you again sometime if you want me to give you a ring.
Was your "new" transcript fabricated? If so you're the karen here.
News flash. Let’s cut thru some of the BS of the high school and college kids on here.
- contract not renewed is being fired in this business.
- coaches are completely within their rights to file complaints if they believe athletes are being tampered with.
- the ncaa may or may not have found evidence of tampering but UCLA obviously know he did whether it’s probable or not and they moved on from him.
- Brosnan thinks he’s the greatest coach ever and is getting what he deserves here. you have to play by the rules.
- the athletes that transferred also clearly behaved in underhanded ways and engaged in recruiting conversations that took place before they went in the portal. I don’t feel bad for them. They knew what they were doing was wrong to.

Extreme woke schools like UCLA will fire you for farting but have an affair with a student and they turn a blind eye. He likely wanted them to actually WORK. The woke aren’t fans of that concept.
