79th at Woodbridge. Maybe the kid talked to them and took it as a commitment.
you guys are stupid he ran 9:15 3200 his junior year. How many runners can do that? You act like 79th at woodbridge is a bad thing...lmao
its not about it being a bad time, just not a time you'd associate with a program that has won 7 of the last 8 titles in XC. Per Milesplit he had the 107th fastest 3200 meters in just the junior class alone last outdoor season.
The 3 kids they took in the 2023 class were 8:48, 8:53 and 8:59 as juniors.

What 2024 commits do they have now that are sub 9?

the only other guys distance recruit on milesplit is Clay Shively who was 1:51/3:59/8:50 (800/1600/3200) as a junior
Wichita Trinity Academy (KS) senior and NAU commit Clay Shively clocked a new course record of 15:23 to win boys championship 5k at the 2023 Roy Griak Invita...
I heard he's going to Mt.Sac Community College like Matthew Donis did since his grades aren't good enough for any good school.
Were Lex and Leo’s HS grades / ACT / SAT scores good enough to get into Stanford?
I read somewhere that they got in because of running.
They met the requirements and yes running did help but have they been very low they wouldn’t have gotten in. That’s why it’s extremely important to do good in school too! running fast alone won’t get you in a good school.
The idea that Stanford admissions is going to bring in cross-country runners with low GPAs and test scores is laughable. Even football players have to hold their breath while going through Stanford admissions.

They do give help to runners, equal to about 100-200 Sat points. For football they have recently dipped to taking a 1000 Sat score. Now of course the SAT is optional.
1% of students have scores 18-23. The Youngs are likely in that group.
Yeah but running did help like I mentioned earlier.
I'm not saying they are bad students. I'm sure they are great students but if you're a 3.8 GPA student without their running abilities you're not getting into Stanford. Same boat with Fisher, great student probably with a GPA of 3.8 and he got in. If he wasn't in demand due to his running abilities he would be just be another smart kid hoping for Stanford to accept him. Running did help them!
