Huge Jack Reacher fan here, own all the books, all of them. Hopefully ya get we could call him Conan, Hercules, Thongor, Kyrik, any of the fictional characters in fantasy. Reacher is beyond just being bad, as ya know.
Wouldn't put too much into these stories other than great escapism literature.
Has this ever actually happened, or just a long shot theory to cover for the mistakes of the vaccinated?
The phenomenon has been known of since the 1800s. It is very rare, but happens more in lacrosse, hockey and baseball. There are typically 2-3 commotio cordis deaths in youth baseball in the US each year. The rate is actually higher in lacrosse (.63 deaths per 100,000 person years vs. .24 deaths per 100,000 person years for baseball). Less common in football, but it happens.

Child does a good job of researching his books, and you can learn a lot of real useless facts from reading his books. Same with the Clancy novels and Greaney novels. If you haven't already, you should try reading the Gray man series by Greaney, they are awesome.
commotio cordis seems to involve a narrow, extremely impactful hit. a hockey puck or a baseball or a lacrosse ball traveling 50-100 mph would seem to fit. this wasn't that kind of hit. also, wasn't he wearing pads? i can't say what did it, but i can say that commotio cordis doesn't seem to fit. hopefully we'll learn more.
We will never know exact causation of this one case.
Regardless, the macro data is looking like CoVid vaccine does significantly increase heart problems. Its sad that so many young healthy people were forced to get it, and the side effects covered up by the media. And that so many people are blind to the scientific literature.
1/6.6 million chance for this to happen, getting hit in the right exact spot, at the right exact force with the right exact timing to stop a heart seems kinda right to me.
Seems like a long shot tbh. Some sort of previously diagnosed block or some such would seem more probable to me but what do I know.
Also, if the impact triggered VF then how did he get right back up? There's no way he would have had enough blood pressure to do so. That, plus the fact he's still in critical condition doesn't make it add up. If you have a healthy heart and restore rhythm successfully after CC then... you should be OK, right?

It is a long shot, that's why it doesn't happen very often. It takes time and gravity for the blood to flow out of his brain for him to black out. I've experienced syncope twice in my life from drops in blood pressure, in both instances there was a delay before I went down completely. It's like if you turn off the main water valve in your house. There is still pressure in the system for a period after the pressure source is shut off.

Decades ago a player with a damaged heart died during an NFL game.
in 1971n Chuck Hughes clutched his heart and fell while running to a huddle.
Following his death, it was discovered that Hughes had a family history of heart problems and that one of his arteries was 75% clogged.
Until yesterday no other player had been felled by cardiac arrest from a hit
And that includes Perwee football to pros, coast to coast, with amateur to pro. may as well throw Rugby in there.
The Hughes situation seems different but I wouldn’t know. even if it’s identical that’s 2 out of many many many millions of hits. maybe a billion by now.
I would just add that these “doctors” are likely the sane folks who pushed this vaccine on children without understanding nor caring about the science. they did care about politics and $, for that we are certain. any doctor pushing this on normally healthy children and even adults should be disbarred from practicing.

Yes, pretty well known in lacrosse. Doesn't "explode the heart," just causes a (frequently fatal) arrythmia.

You realize every NFL hit doesn’t occur just like this right? Most tackles are made by ankle, waist, hip, shoulder, head, across the side, etc. how many of those billions are directly into the chest?!?? Not as many as you think.
And again, a 220lb dude running 20mph and lunging into a defender running at him 20mph, that’s a big impact.
a previous poster said how “he never heard of this before last night” is hilarious too. Didn’t realize you followed every medical occurrence possible.
qlso for the fools: you realize every NCAA coach must be CPR and AED certified every two years (this was even before the big bad Covid vaccine came out). So you’re either an awful troll of a human or just blind to actual reality.
