Masculinity is attractive to women, just as femininity is attractive to men. Being masculine doesn't have to be all about being 6' or taller with a ripped body. Sure, Chad may look like that by default, but being masculine is as much about an attitude and an ability as it is about looks.
I am 50 and would consider myself average looking, 6' tall. I have a beard (graying) and most of my hair. I'm not in tremendous physical shape but also not overweight. Better than Dad bod, but not a guy who lifts weights religiously either.
I am a very "take charge" kind of guy who will fix whatever needs to be fixed or control whatever situation needs controlling. Not in a bad way, but I get things done. This seems to be a very attractive trait and I consider it part of being a man.
I find myself in situations every week where it would be painfully easy to pick up women half my age. Yesterday I was installing network equipment on jobsite and there was a cute woman, probably 25, working on a video camera system. She was having trouble with some connectivity issues, I said "let me fix that for you" and I did. In front of her, I also directed several other people on the site in ways that go her problem fixed almost immediately. I took charge, got results. After that, it took about 5 minutes of casual banter before she was leaning in, twirling her hair, and actively hitting on me. As I left she said she hoped I'd be back on site Monday, she wanted to buy me a coffee (I don't drink coffee) on her way in.
Not terribly long ago I was driving home from work and I saw two women stopped on the side of the road with a flat tire. Pulled over and asked them if they needed help. Turns out they had a "man" with them, but he was in the back seat watching a youtube video trying to figure out what to do. I popped the trunk, got the tire changed, done in ten minutes. Separately, both gave me their phone numbers -- and they were hot, probably 25 years old.
This happens time and time again. Be a man around women. It's attractive to them.
You are a poor man's Tony Soprano.
